brake fluid reservoir frozen over the winter anyone ?

There is NO WAY brake fluid will freeze at any outside temperature anywhere in Canada. Sure it has brake fluid in there and not water??

Although brake fluid itself may not freeze until below -40*F, the moisture absorbed by the brake fluid can freeze at much lower temps. If you have not changed out your brake fluid it can become saturated with moisture and this is also what also causes the sludge and corrosion in the brake system. I try to flush my brake system and add new fluid every 2 yrs. if yours is frozen, put it in a heated area overnite and flush the system.

Only way it would freeze is if there was water in it to begin with. So you probably have or will have other issues from the expansion if the fluid froze.
This is first time ive ever heard of brake fluid freezing.

OP made two threads. Pictures/Video or it isn't true! Like many of us have said only way it happened is if there was moisture or water in there. Defrost, and flush if everything is intact.

Next time use gluten free brake fluid

Good IDEA!
