Congrats on your first bike! I love the color scheme! If you're not going to wait for the course find someone experienced to come help you out in a big empty parking lot and make sure you're wearing gear so you can get used to it at the same time :thumbup:

Thanks everyone and it was my favorite color scheme on the Ninja and got a good deal so I went for it. The white Ninja's also look pretty good too tho. My friend came over and got what Legend suggested.
Got on and off the bike a few times and he made me walk it around. My driveway is slightly inclined and it only managed to walk it half way up lol
 
Awesome. Best feeling is when you get to take home a new motorcycle, that and riding it for the first ime ;). Ride it around the block just don't do anything stupid.

I'm jealous of the colour! I was a newbie when I first sat on a motorcycle. I suggest you wait until you take the course. Its better to drop their bike, than yours!
 
nice bike :) just wondering how old are you and how much was insurance? ahah ;P

just got my own bike a week back, i'd suggest doing the msf course first it helped me a lot, I think I would have crashed already if I didn't take it
 
Congrats buddy - I have the exact same bike, except that mines modded. Same color scheme.. If you're ever in the North York or Mississauga area I'd be down to help you out and get you a feel for things.

Course first. Riding a dirt bike and a road bike is 2 different thing.

When on the road there are 3500 lb of metal flying around u at all times. Practice those emergency maneuvers, it will safe ur life

Lmao, I booked with the CMA course in Stoney Creek about a month ago. The date is June 28,29 its so far awayyy. Called and told them to put me in asap if someone cancels. Doesnt look like that'll happen
 
Then go find a parking lot, practice and get comfortable on it. Course or not riding is the only thing that's going to help. Do you have any friends with experience that can come help you out?

Yup had a friend come over yesterday for a little awhile and maybe this evening. Ill try to learn the clutch today and actually move it on its own power

Well said. Normal operation of a motorcycle within the rules of the road is not the finely honed skill it's made out to be. Go practice, you'll get more out the course if you have an understanding of balance and the clutch. I did 300km on my bike before the course. As for avoiding bad habits, Just practice without hovering your fingers over the clutch and brake. And squeeze the tank with your knees. Keep the balls of your feet on the pegs once your moving.
