Must be why they never catch me. :D

That would be funny except that I live a pretty good life, make good money and have been with the same woman for 20 years. I'm so far from a nerd in his mother's basement that the only way to get further from it is if I owned my own jet and lived on a yacht.

Most of GTAM, on the other hand...

So this thread went from someone trying to find out information from people who actually own a certain bike to an all out e-battle of I'm better than you? Well done as always folks.

I've read about a few having issues with the switches on the bars. Some complaining that it causes the bike to cut out etc. I wonder if it's all of them or just a certain year? Still an amazing looking bike.

Yup, that's the one I'm after. I'm already pricing out mods, primarily the exhaust and some carbon parts and some levers, maybe rearsets and a windscreen haha... I swore I would keep my next bike stock. doesn't look like it.

^^ +1

Back in Eastern Europe (where I was born and raised), people would live in poverty but drive a BMW, even if it meant no food on the table for the kids. It was (maybe still is) a sign you're a failure in life if you don't fart around with a shiny new bimmer. I obviously don't know anything about the S1000RR in comparison to other more exotic bikes, but since the OP made his mind already anyway, and the direction of the thread lost focus long ago, I'll just throw it in here---I despise the BMW brand from the bottom of my heart. There, I burped it---I feel very relieved now :)

You sure that came out of the top hole? Sounds more to me like it came out of a lower hole :D Could be why you are so relieved?
Silly me I suppose I base my opinions on actual riding experience:cool:

So since this thread is a long lost cause anyways.... you hate a specific brand of something because of a cultures sh**ty ideals? I think the failures in life are the morons who do drive around in the shiny new bmw that lease it and are just doing it to have an image. I never understood where the importance of showing off or competing with the jones's came from. Does that mean I wouldn't own the right bmw? Hell no. I'm actually looking at one currently. I'd never drive a north american pos again. Nothing but German for me but that doesn't mean I'll despise chevy because the one idiot in my town with a corvette thinks its the biggest chick magnet in the world (older 80's car).

Do you have an actual reason? Maybe a bad experience or something?

Oh, I came from a very well educated and good family. Dear childhood friends of mine--not so lucky. And as for why I wrote it here: because I'm bored && it's GTAM and everybody writes whatever they want => Mina will see my comment and he's very passionate about Corsara's comments, and will waste no minute to start a meaningless dialog aimed to put me down => maybe not so bored anymore :)

Dude, I don't know why you think I have a problem with you. I don't!

For the people that actually own the bike, is there an add-on that can make the lower fairings (belly pan) a little longer?

This is important because?

There are a bunch of GTAMers that do well for themselves. Just bc they don't rub it in your face and flaunt it. Doesn't mean they don't have it or a decent opinion about the topic of the thread.

I have even less respect for this kind of attitude.

I'm friends with a few on here that have some of the most plain track bikes around. I can pretty much guarantee they have more to brag about than you. But don't.

Oh and being with a woman for 20yrs means nothing. Doesn't mean she's not out riding while you're out riding!!

Oh and back on topic.

Congrats on whatever you buy. In my opinion all bikes have their issues. Can't go wrong with a reputable brand especially if they have god customer service!
