Agreed... So many moments when I felt as if I would tip over when waiting for a light.

I've also wondered, is it harder or easier to handle a heavier/bigger bike compared to the cbr125?

In high winds? The wind will tend to have less effect on the steering when you're moving (but not a huge difference), but the bigger bikes with more "sail area" thanks to being longer and with bigger fairings will get blown more when you're sitting at a stop in a crosswind. Unpleasant any way you slice it.

I recall a race day at Shannonville being called due to high winds a couple years ago, after Jodi Christie (IIRC) almost got blown off the track and everyone else was having a rough time of it, too.
 
Hey hows it going everyone. Ya it was definitely an interesting day. I drive along the lakeshore to school and back, really made for an interesting ride. Was my first time experiencing wind speeds this high lol, at least it didnt rain! Havent had fun in the rain just yet...
 
I've ridden in winds like today on my much bigger 1800cc bike and it doesn't help at all. If anything it was downright terrifying. Today was the first day I rode my 1982 cb900f with 110mm tires and it was not fun at all lol

Felt all squiggly and riding sideways!
 
It definitely wasn't fun driving home on the highway against the wind.
 
I would say there is some difference between a big bike and a small bike. That is not to say that the big bikes are not affected. When I traded my wing for a cbr125 for a week there was a clear difference in the effects the wind had while riding on the hwy.
 
I once rode in 50 km wind gusts last year on the highway doing like 150ish

bloody scary when there are cagers zooming right past you and the wind is blowing u side 2 side

on a side note: watching those big 747s land @ pearson would be pretty cool....

The winds are straight down the pipe today, nothing really too exciting. Wait until the winds are from the NW and then go sit on Brittania and watch them come in for 33L. Now that's something to see, especially since they run tight in trail separation. The pilots are battling winds and expediting runway clearing. Always fun.

yes, i would still be out riding now if it weren't for those crazy random gusts of wind, they seem to come in waves :P and i agree that even with a bigger/heavier bike standstill gusts push much harder, i used to have a 250lbs 150cc scooter and i was easily able to handle the gusts of wind, but now with my 550lbs bike its actually scary waiting at a standstill, cuz you need to be ready for the wind, pushes HARD! but i also agree that when riding there isnt much difference from a small-big bike...
 
I was on a plane going into Montreal once that felt like the *** end was steping 20 feet out on landing...

Coming over the Garden City skyway sign noted not strong winds, but severe winds, made me glad to be in the car
 
It was a weird feeling, leaning and steering in one direction and moving in the other. A first for me, and not pleasant :P
 
I had the bike covered and the winds were so high that it actually moved the bike backwards on its side stand. I saw the scrape mark left on the concrete by the side stand. Good thing it didn't get blown forward or it would have come off the side side stand and tipped over. I have since removed the cover until winds die down.
 
Had my first 401 experience testing out my gear/backpack. The high winds pretty much pointed out my backpack was the least of my worries, the bike catches MUCH more wind!
 
Nice ride into work this morning.

Crazy one going home.

My commute is short, but I have a wide sweeping curve to the left just before me street. I had to lean into that turn like it was a hairpin. Felt weird.

Really? I thought the bigger and heavier the bike is the less it would be affected by the wind...I felt like I was going to blow over on my 250 today
