Bike stuck on choke after a month in the garage

Hey folks,

I have a 07 Vstar 1100 that's been riding fine all summer but I went away for a month and now I can't get the bike turned on properly. It can remain on while the choke is on, but as soon as I open the throttle or put it to mid-choke the bike will die.

I tried starting her by opening the throttle fully and turning the choke off, and just press the starter until she started and I managed to turn it on, I held it for a bit but after a few minutes I let go of the throttle and try to restart her to no avail. I think I've also killed the battery after many start attempts (although I have a battery tender than will take care of that).

Any ideas on what to do?

Thanks!
