Bike knocked over at the gas station :(

Sweet, it turned out pretty good after all. Maybe if you could hold off, some good deals could be around the corner in a month and a bit?

Minivans. Scourge of the roads man

Hey, I drive a minivan, only in my hands can a van be driven like an race car. Always driven bigger vehicles, driving and parking / exiting is easy. I don't get how some people run into curbs or can't stay in the lines with small cars. *But this driver that backed up, what an idiot.

OP, loosing a bike regardless of the circumstance is heartbreaking, but I bet your looking forward to a new bike. Any thoughts what it might be?

Expensive tip over. Glad you are alright. Are you allowed to cut pollution control devices off of vehicles?

Expensive indeed. The dent in the frame killed the bike for SF, they said they don't want to take the chance of letting me ride it.
I cut the original cat off, but replaced it with the 06 Factory cat and muffler.

Were you able or had the opportunity to salvage any parts?

How do they determine value of aftermarket parts if any on bike?

You will need to provide receipts for any aftermarket parts on the bike as well as pictures (in some cases) and even then, you don't get 1:1 to your dollar back.

Most likely yes, but the question is, can I hold off :)

All roads lead me to a k8-k9 gsxr 750

Sad to see a bike with such minor damage go to waste :(. That said you did the right thing. Its cheaper for statfarm to right the bike off then spend time with quotes and repairs ect . . .

Hey man,

Losing riding time sucks. Has State Farm said anything about premium increases to your policy after making a claim that was clearly not your fault. I am in a similar position where a lady backed into my bike parked in a parking spot and left a note with her contact details (considerate but silly on her part) She doesn't want to pay the offer I gave her for parts and labour ($1000) so she gave me her insurance info. I've spoken with State Farm and they said I don't pay my $500 deductible under the Direct Compensation Property Damage but I forgot to ask about the premium impact. I just turned 25 and am DT Toronto so I only pay $865 a year, so the premium is damn cheap as it is.

If you are at 0 fault, and in this case you are, there won't be any premium increases based on this incident. And since you have the information of the person at fault, there won't be any deductible held against you.

Glad to hear that it worked out well.

The frame sliders were in the mail and arrived 2 days after the incident.

already have a new bike with fram sliders :)
