Best Cargo Pants?

I'm really happy with Jimmy's stuff so I'll add a little more to this.

I have Velocity black cargos and cammo cargos. The black cargos are smart enough for work and very comfy. There's a pretty decent amount of kevlar in the pants where you need it and the armour in the pants is great. At the price he's selling them for with a group deal you can't go wrong.

Yep, they still sell them. I go through 1 pair or so every year (use them for hiking and they take a lot of abuse). If you don't have membership - just ask someone who has to get you a Costco giftcard. This way you can shop without buying membership and if thee is not enough on GC to cover the purchase - you can pay the difference with cash.

Got four more pair at Costco Barrie yesterday. They have plenty of black in Large (waist 36). Just to clarify, these pants aren't designed for riding, but if you have knee armor they are great for summer as they are quite thin and cool, yet take a beating.

I would need atleast 20 orders to offer a group buy price of $100 (MSRP $150). These would be Kevlar jeans or Kevlar Cargo's for Men and Women. We have sample sizes at the office for men and women. Also note the Kevlar we use is original Dupont and thicker than any of the competition in the market. If there is enough interest than I will post in the Group Buy section.

I'm in for a group buy on the Velocity Cargo. How many people are needed to get this going?

I could use another pair as well ;)

Lol I don't forsee a problem with getting 20 Jimmy :p

Not exactly in topic, but I have the "Utility" model from mountain khakis
Reinforced knee and seat (double layer). It also has a "Diamond-Shaped Action Gusset" in the crotch... I love it.

Just read the reviews... you'll get an idea.

I used to wear Carhartts jeans, but these are way better.

I was so happy with them that I got another model, the flannel-lined one.

Do you have a weight for the kevlar like these guys do?

Most of their jeans are 400 gram kevlar. Not that I know what that means or how it compares to anyone else's.

I'm in for one for sure possibly two pairs

Kevlar is usually measured by Thickness and not overall weight. We always use Dupont Kevlar that is 260 gsm (grams per square meter). This is not a number the big brands want to advertise. Try to find the thickness and brand name of the Kevlar. ALmost impossible. Dupont invented this type of Kevlar but most big brands just use their own manufactured Kevlar by giving it a cool name.

Great, count me in for 1 pair for certain and possibly a 2nd if I can get them in a grey and khaki color.
Will also check the group buy section.

Sign me up for a pair of cargo pants as well. I see mention of different colours... would this be possible? If so, I would probably get a couple of pairs.

If anyone is in the Kingston area and thinking about the group buy I don't mind letting you have a look at the pants if you're on the fence. Happy to see a local retailer do well.

I think that's around 10 pairs already, just here.

What an incredibly gay thread.

Thanks for the info. I wonder what the 400 gram rating Grin Factor is using is referencing. I would assume per square meter as well. They also specify that they use true Dupont Kevlar.

Not trying to pull anyone away from what you're offering. Just comparing the two because I was considering ordering some of their jeans before I saw this thread.

If I am not mistaken Kevlar weight (gsm) has direct correlation to fabric thickness. So pants made from 400 gsm Kevlar fabric will be thicker then pants made with 230 gsm kevlar. Also don't forget the fabric itself - good jeans will 10-14 oz or higher denim. Here is old thread with some good reference http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforu...nd-of-kevlar-jeans-offers-the-best-protection
