Gotta say I was skeptical but damn it IS comfortable. Not sure why but it works.

I bought the ceramic as it's going to Australia with me for the KLR as well and it's so wet and damp there figured wood might be an issue over time.

200k tonight and usually I would feel my sciatica but while it twinged just a bit towards the end it was way less and nada after getting home. Money well spent for me for sure. Even with the Day-Long the bead rider improved it.

Might help on those long runs - might just be one this weekend if all goes well - will report on a 6-8 ride and see how it does.

I used to stick to the seat in my work truck until I put in a beaded seat. It was $13 dollars worth of comfort.

I had a pair of homemade ones for the Wing.(they broke) The air circulation is the key i think. They make a huge difference.

Ceramic not so cheap - $50 or but looks to last forever and not subject to weather/damp. You slip around a bit which is not a problem on my seat which is like a tractor seat but my kid who tried i ton his sv650 said - yeah more comfortable but too slippy

I'm a bit ashamed to say that I have a standard wooden one on my bike in the summer. It looks awful, but it's very effective. The airflow makes things much more comfortable. Aside from bleaching out a bit, the wood has held up very well to several years of weather.

300 km in to a day long ride - 5 hours plus riding - it's weird I can feel it there, feels hard - you think it should hurt over time, it doesn't and I have no sciatica pain art all when I get off.

I keep thinking it's gonna start - nope.

Probably won't get a 600k+ in til I get back from down east on a van trip. Looking good tho for the long runs.

Not much I can do for sore neck but hell no sore butt is a really good thing.

I'll definitely be getting one. Did another ~350 km today*--perfect weather really--with a bit of easily dispelled soreness. The stock seat seems fine, but like any seat wrapped in polywhatever, doesn't breathe very well.

After that, I think the accessorizing is nearly done. The upgraded suspension delivers and the Givi topbox is much handier than I expected.

*previous bikes reduced me to agony in 150 km, or less, so it's quite a leap in range.

That ride ended with just under 400k total and I left at 10 pm and got home at 5 pm with two 45 minute breaks.
That's a long time in the saddle given I haven't ridden he Burgman much tho lots of saddle time on the KLR and THAT was a killer every single ride. :(

Different strokes for different folks. I had no trouble doing 800km days on the KLR stock seat until the foam started to breakdown and gave me hot spots.
I swapped out to a dipped Corbin, solved that problem, but the dip was not quite where I liked to sit, so went with a no-dip Corbin and the ride has been mint. I spent 23 hours on it last year, PEI straight through to Richmond Hill.

You perhaps don't have sciatica and hope you never do, but on the KLR650 forums "what seat" is a hot topic.

I bought a butt buffer (yeah bad name), and I didn't like it. I'm not really diggin' the 'ben wa effect' here either .... :)
