I routinely leave my helmet (with gloves tucked inside) dangling from the chin strap off the rear foot peg. I think nothing of it. If people actually sit on bikes, I guess I should start securing the helmet when I'm down GTA way.

I had to move other people's bikes several times in order to get mine out (fortunately people in question were too lazy/stupid/careless to lock their steering).
In general, 3 bikes to a spot.

@Vlad - Rarely would people sit on touring/naked bikes, but it happens a lot to blinged out cruisers or sportbikes.
From the info that you just gave there, I won't know why.
