Be Careful - got hit at a red

wow i did not think they would bother. they do thid for texts too?
They absolutely do, whenever a car with a SINGLE occupant is involved in an accident.

Quite often when I am stopped at a light and I see a car approaching behind me, I'll make sure to give a decent head turn, so that the other driver sees movement. Even if they think I'm looking at them, it doesn't really matter to me even if I'm not, but it helps to make them aware of my presence. Or I'll squeeze my brakes a few times.

I'm just way too paranoid about getting hit a light!

How do you judge when you should get out of the way? I don't want to look crazy or like an @$$ going in between cars when the car behind stops safely. Wait for the squeals? Or just better safe than sorry?

+1 never really understood the concept of looking at your mirrors to peel off incase a car is about to hit you...

When it looks like they're going to fast too be able to stop in time before hitting you. You should be able to judge by the speed of the car, and how close they are.

There's no way i would let him off. You have zero clue of what's happened to your body as a result of this incident.

Years ago, i got into an accident. Back has never been the same since, annnnnd I go to chiro regularly now. I was jarred pretty good, so I wouldn't chance it. If you still have time, report it at a collision centre and file with insurance. I have no idea why you even hesitated. it's not like it adds much to your plate of things to do (in regards to your comment about so many things going on).

Don't chance it dude.

BTW, never trust a dude wearing a corduroy blazer. In the very least, there were no elbow patches. :/

I learnt years ago to make sure that I check behind me, when I stop at lights. How did I learn? By getting launched into the air when I was stopped at a red light, of course. Just last Monday I went through a cold amber light because when I looked in my mirror, I saw a car coming up on me at 80+ Kmh. He went through a cold RED behind me. No reasonable police officer is going to ticket you for not wanting to get hit by a car, in a situation like that. If an unreasonable one does....... Well, that's why I have cameras.
