Uncle and other family confirm trans woman. Whatever, nutjob shooter commits mass murder. The government will crack down on legal guns, again and again. And never address the mental illness aspect. Be it mass murder by knife, car, truck, machete etc.. like everywhere in our world including here, it`s mental illness, including religious extremists. What inane plan will Carney and Gary the chipmunk present over this horrible tragedy. Hint...pssst, it won`t be about mental illness and dealing with it. That would take serious hard work and commitment.
and I repeat again. 80% of gun deaths in Canada are suicides. I'm guessing the other 20% are 50/50 hate or drug related.
Ban ALL guns and the 80% jump off bridges, in front of trains, OD etc.
As a kid I came close to being shot due to a careless storage issue. He missed.
The closest gunshot murder I can relate to is two degrees of separation, The cousin of a co worker, a murder cover-up by the OPP.
Suicides:
A kid my wife and I babysat drowned himself
The brother of a neighbour I've baked bread for jumped off a bridge
A cousin's boyfriend hung himself because of a break-up.
A client employee, always over-worked, hung himself from an office sprinkler after working the weekend to complete a job.
My daughter lost three friends to suicide in a month, none by firearms.
One of her schoolmates, living a few blocks from us did himself in.
Two happy go lucky electricians I worked with committed suicide.
What have gun bans got to do with saving lives?
P.S. Sometimes a distressed person suddenly becomes happy and at peace. In some cases they have planned their demise and are happy because they know their torment will soon be over.
