Battery master power switch

I'm looking to install a master power switch right at the battery terminals (or wired into the trunk, same place on the actual circuit) so I can effectively disconnect the battery when I want to, without having to bust out the tool kit, take off my seat, and disconnect one of the terminals. My biggest fuse is a 30A which I presume is for the starter motor, since I can't see anything else drawing that many amps. Any useful recommends or insights?

I assume he means starter relay, as they have 30A fuses

The 30A fuse is the main fuse that all power to the bike EXCEPT starter motor main power goes through.

Starter motor main power has no fuse on it. But starter motor main power goes through the starter solenoid, which on most bikes is also where the main fuse is installed. The starter solenoid cannot pull in (turn on) unless the control signal for it is on, and *that* is going through the main fuse.

Install the disconnect on the battery ground wire instead of the positive. It will accomplish the same end effect -- complete removal of the battery from the circuit. You don't say which bike you have but it may be easier to wire into the circuit than the way you are proposing.

I should clarify: I need insights on the switch itself. What kind might be most desirable, given that most switches can barely handle 20 A, for example, and where might one be able to procure such an appropriate switch for this application?

Also checkout marine supply shops for similar items for boats. They might be waterproof, an advantage.
