****** Bags

The cruiser guys are worse if you are talking about downtown. Just the other night, I was coming home from a full evening of riding out west, a group of 12 cruisers peeled out of HardRock and proceeding northbound on Yonge. Worst is they decided to pass me in my own lane. It's bad enough for cagers to go into my lane when I'm riding. All these d-bags ride, and they know better than that, and that's why I'm frustrated. I know it's fun and all with the group-SOA-mentality ripping it up the road. Show a little courtesy to other fellow riders on the road. The lead just took off on the group and there are guys who blindly follows, disregarding other motorists on the road. I was trying to get to the right lane but guys kept blocking my exit & blindspots. Wish it was a Super Mario racing game where I can toss banana peels at them... that's how bad they were. I know I'll get flamed for calling a couple of these guys out, but whatever. There are 2 guys that were wearing OTR vests. That's enough to dissuade me from supporting any event associated with that group.

I ride plenty downtown GTA because of where I work and live. The gixxers, although a running joke, and sportbikes are pretty courteous when it comes to sharing the road.

So, you do annoy everyone else with obnoxious noise because you're lonely?

OT: Sad working culture gen Y has created, isn't it?

If I was bothered by loud exhausts I wouldn't be riding =P

Hell, I actively try to work on not letting things bother me; I don't particularly like cruiser straight pipes. Life really sucks when you let little things get to you. We already have a gender that does that, they're called females =P

I kid I kid! (Don't hate me women!)

On a side note, just the other day I had some dude rip past my group as we were about to exit on a ramp, from the inside then cut the median. We stay spread out pretty far...it didn't bug any of us as no one said anything after but I know some of you here would've shaken the world and taken a dump on that side of the road with a sign that says "MINE".

EDIT: And yes. IT is one of the few fields that are constantly hiring...but depending on the company, human interaction may be lacking. Startup, small and medium businesses seem best so far.

Screaming SS exhaust is no where near as annoying as Harley's, Harley's hurt my ear drum

Anyone prefer just riding solo?

Solo is good, but I like having another person riding with me.
It's safer and if this person is riding better than me, then it's more fun then riding on your own.

AND, fun is more fun when you share it.

True. Get a bicycle maybe >? ;)

Solo gets boring and I find if you're in the mood to push it a little, you will with someone with you vs alone. That said if it is one of those rides I would only entertain doing it with someone I know instead of someone I've never ridden with before.

Yup and no noobs. Noobs will stare at you going really fast....then look at something they shouldn't look at (like the pavement) and freak out =(

Gotta love those big double deckers sitting at a red light revving the hell out of the bike while they have that willie nelson blaring.

Each time I head home down yonge street, bikers seem to love to open the throttle on young and dundas at the traffic light. I know its all about having fun and having a sense of humor, but this douch-ness is just ridiculous. Ive stopped waving all together as I can spot a ****** a mile away.

I'm gonna circle your block riding the red line if you ever cross me. I'll prolly get all the ladies that way, too, so it's a win-win for me

.

Whats OTR ?

Its funny how the old guys on harleys (or cars/pickups) often tend to be more agressive (bad drivers) than younger guys on stds/sport bikes (Ricers)

What happened to all the down to earth riders just wanting to ride? Or is it just about showing off?

It's highly possible that they are attention whoring d*bags who only ride for superficial reasons.

It is also possible they are downtown because they use their bike to commute (working or living in downtown) and they also just really like the sound of their bike.

Nobody rides down town for the quality twisty roads, so it's social riding, attention seeking, and the desperate hopes of attracting someone of the opposite or same sex. So bouncing off the rev limiter is a misguided fertility dance.

Hey chicks look how big mine gixxar is!

Says the guy riding a busa! :lmao?

Man what the hell happened to bikers, used to be cool back in the day. Today it seems bitching and whining about how everyone else rides is the cool thing.

I saw 3 bikes wheeling down the 401 the other night, it brought a smile to my face :)

I am a noob and I stopped looking at the pavement by the end of the MSC and I stopped panicking after the pavement came by and said "hi I miss you looking at me, let me give you a hug" on my 5th day of riding.

Now I'm just working on taking turns without going a bit wide or slowing down, been using Lakeshore for now since the turns aren't too bad. :P

I don't really understand what's fun about just sitting there revving your engine though.

Also I don't start at people going real fast, I usually try to follow :laughing5: (within reason.)

Get a bike with a nice exhaust, you'll understand.

I usually rev/ give it more throttle going under bridges/ tunnels. I love to hear my exhaust echoing through the place.
I don't understand why people rev it in front of a restaurant though.

Also a side note, don't ride with anyone you meet downtown. They usually do stupid **** along the way. (Everything from filtering to going beyond 200kph)

It's mandatory to drop a gear under a bridge/tunnel.

Not sure where you are riding but i've NEVER found this to be true. Maybe more hairy in general. Maybe more weight in general. Maybe more surly in general. But more aggressive?
Never had a cruiser fly past me in my lane (on the right side on a single lane road) doing about 50 kph over the limit. Wish i could say the same for sport bikes.

Edit: Please forgive if my sarcasm detector is broken
