I’m looking for a wax that’s once a year, or maybe twice a year.

So many different brands it’s hard to find one that is worth the price and quality

I have been very happy with Chemical Guys products. I typically wax twice a year. Good equipment is helpful too.

I will do a complete wash, clay bar, wash again, swirl removal with Chemical Guys VSS Scratch and Swirl remover followed by Chemical Guys All In One Polish and Sealant. I have at least 4 applications and each product is 16 oz. I have only used about 1/5 of the swirl remover and 1/3 of the polish. I have a CX5 for reference. A little goes a long way.

Plastics, and leather get Chemical Guys Silk Shine Protectant.

I have multiple foam heads and chose the porosity based on my vehicle condition and use a Torq X oribital polishing tool.

I have been very pleased with the application and results.

I don’t think that there is any true once a year type thing unless you are getting into what JZ mentions, serious clay bar and buffer type stuff.

I’ll second Chemical Guys products. Not cheap but good stuff

I don’t get into heavy duty waxing much at all, but for a quick lazy man’s wash and wax in the driveway type thing I’ve been fairly impressed with the Simoniz hybrid ceramic protectant wash - $25 or something like that at Canadian tire for a 2 L jug that makes a heck of a lot of foamy car wash. Every time I use it I am honestly pretty surprised at the shine it leaves behind.
