Ugh. That was a slog. More pseudo intellectualized guff...I mean content.
"Authenticity" is one of those modern buzz words that get emblazoned on a t-shirt or lasered on a piece of gravel and sold for 10 bucks to the poor hapless soul who couldn't get the t-shirt in his size.
When I (try to) read this stuff I'm immediately transported back to the 3rd concession in North Pickering in the 1980's. I was driving the open-station tractor back to the farm late in the afternoon after spending the entire day on it in the field. I was hot, dusty and thirsty and fairly greasy because stuff ALWAYS happened. There was a movie/TV shoot going on around the old Barkey property (probably Littlest Hobo) west of Altona Rd. and they stopped traffic including me for quite a while. I had turned off the tractor, to be relieved from the noise and the diesel exhaust fumes. Sitting impatiently, a fellow from the production staff sidles up beside the tractor and starts attempting to connect some obscure dots. Unsuitable words like, behemoth, majesty, chariot and Spartan were levied in my direction. It was either a vain attempt to impress me, demean me, or to pick me up, but as I'd already shoveled a lot of crap in my life to that point I had become a bit of a connoisseur in that I know my crap.
When a gap appeared in his senseless chatter I responded. "Brother, it's just a tractor, and I'm just the guy using it." Mission accomplished. Silence resumed.
My POV is no slag on TK4. I appreciate the effort finding these things and tossing them out there to see if they sink or float.
I have 28,000 subscribers on YouTube and haven't published a new video in three months. I don't believe in words for the sake of words.
Other people have employers who give them targets they have to hit in exchange for money they need to make. They make content for the sake of content. Sometimes, it shows...
As for the mindset of stock bikes suck... A lot of them (but not all) do suck now compared to before. Many of them need tunes and maps just to even run how they should have run from factory... It's been that way for a couple decades now. It's much ado about nothing new...
On my 1933 motorcycle I have a modern tail-light which also has a "stop-light" in addition to the "tail-light" without "stop light" which was the requirement when the motorcycle was made. "Stop Lights" only became a requirement in Ontario in the late 1930's.
