Are you still looking for Under Armour?

I've been looking for Under Armour Heatgear Compression Fit since April and after repeatedly scouring all the bike shops around came up empty handed. The PUG stuff is too big for me, as is the A* one-piece undersuit that I've been wearing all summer. I popped into a hockey gear shop today and what did they have racks and racks of? Yup, you guessed it. Only $60/piece too, and they even had my size in. Praise Jebus!

So if you're looking for UA, check out a hockey gear supply shop. Wish I had known about this at the beginning of the summer!

Anyone know where I can score some cheap synthetic underwear ? Is this UA stuff really worth the money?

I always thought under amour *came* from the sport of hockey.. I wouldn't have thought to check bike shops for it, rather sports shops.

I use some breathable tshirts I picked up at MEC and other sports stores.

I've worn the cheap knock off variety and I didn't find it as well fitted. As for MEC, a member here PMed me their online listings and not only did they not have anything comparable for women, but the price was pretty much the same.

Ummm ya....you can usually find all kinds of under armour, and other assorted bits of dry-fit goodness at national sports. Check the clearance section, as sometimes they have a whole crap load of stuff on sale.

Bushtukkah sells Craft compression wear (made in Sweden) which is better than underarmour...and cheaper when it's in a sell-off. I just got back from a 7h ride wearing the mens compression top and it's awesome. I paid about $39 I think for the top which is usually about $100. I looked online and there's a few deals on the women's stuff right now. I highly recommend it. Getting the top on is a ***** as it's so tight but once it's on it's like a second skin. Great support, flat seams, wicks amazingly well, lets your leathers slide on easily and after 5 mins you don't even know it's there.

i wouldnt even bother looking at a bike shop. id go straight to a hockey or other sports store, or a ski/snow/bike shop.

Under Armour at bike shops? Under Armour is for sports. C'mon now. But anyways, glad you found them. Sportchek and National Sports have a bunch of them. Check out Walmart for their compression shirts and underwear. I own a couple and they're fit and it actually keeps me cool. And for under $10 too.

Nike Dri-Fit or whatever is comparable from Reebok or Adidas will work equally as well at a cheaper pricing point. Check out Si Vous Play Sports outlets (www.svpsports.ca) and browse around their stores in person. You'll definitely find some good deals on moisture wicking athletic wear.

I got some pug under shirt and the only benefit I noticed was how much easier to take my suit off. Otherwise it was just as sweat soaked and seemed to take as long to dry as a regular t shirt

At a certain point you'll get maximum evaporation from a range of fabrics that leads to cooling. All you can offer after that is different degrees of comfort or some features that are sport specific perhaps, whether a small incremental increase in comfort is worth an x-fold increase in price is up to the consumer.

As for sweat soaked "dry-fit" garments...they will all do this IF there's nowehere for the sweat to evaporate to between the garment and the jacket. The process of evaporative cooling depends on a marked difference in humidity/concentration of sweat between the skin-garment layer and the garment-atmosphere layer. So really you need some vents open or some kind of airflow with the jacket on top of the dry fit garment.
