April 5 the most dangerous day to ride?

good thing I'm done my riding for the day then...It was a little chilly today but managed over 100km.

Changed my name..........moved my bike this side the pond................and kept it in the garage today.............just in case!!

I am surprised by the 41-48 year old figure. I assumed it was younger riders more likely to get killed by goofing off.

It's the mid-life crisis guys with their M1 and a huge chopper to compensate I think. I mean I'm a noob on a 250 and I when I was a kid I thought those dudes were super cool, but now that I'm progressing, when I look at them I see all sorts of awkward.

yea, my buddy's stepdad whose about 45+ just went out and bought himself a Vstar 1700cc model...buddy didn't even know he knew how to ride and says his pops don't even have a license yet but he rode it home from wherever he got it.

Those stats are only for the UK. That 41-48 years of age stat is just odd, i'm thinking it's just a fluke random thing since they are only talking about April 5th's. Seriously you don't think there are way more young hot dogs in their 20's crashing sports bikes than people over 40 on cruisers?

If those stats are typical in general then why are insurance rates so much higher for younger riders? It's always been claimed the older riders are more mature and thus safer. Seems like a really silly bunch of stats that article came up with, just a fluke day they picked out. Is there anyone here from an insurance company who can provide stats for here in Canada regarding age to crash percentages?
