Also, the wiring comes from inside the hatch, not from under the car. Check the two little bins at the back of the hatch at the sides...that's where the wiring comes from

To avoid warranty issues associated with trailering, I built a control box for trailer lights. It plugs into the lighter socket and has switches to control the lights. It's not the best idea to use it if its your first time pulling a trailer, but it works well and it leaves no trace in the car.
