I went from Mississauga to Markham. I swear to God I was moving with the storm! Couldn't see **** on the 407.

I left the office downtown at about 4:45 when I noticed the sky was getting scary. Thought I might make it, but no luck--got caught in the really heavy stuff near lakeshore & leslie. Water got in somewhere it shouldn't be & the bike stalled & wouldn't start again just before woodbine. I pushed it up & waited out the worst under the Woodbine pool until I could start up again.

Yep. Saw a couple other unfortunate souls on the 407 slowly puttering along on 2 wheels. Bloody 407 was moving so painfully slow.
The bike died on you ?? Jesus..
I was out this afternoon, but barely missed it by a half-hour.
Funny thing was, before I went out around 1, I was actually looking at the radar and was thinking "Well, it might hit us, or it might pass north and east of the city... hard to tell." So I gambled on it. Good thing I was already done futzing around by quarter after 4 and decided to come home! Whew! That was close!
Reminds me of the time about five years ago I was stuck in a hell of a downpour. I had been visiting friends in Guelph and was on my way back home. I knew the storm was coming but it was west, behind me, so I was burning it in the left-hand express lane on the 401 trying to outrun the damn thing (haha, you fool!).
That time, my luck ran out right around the time I was passing south of Pearson, when the sky just opened up. Visibility was so bad I couldn't see three car lengths ahead, so I had to get off the 401. Had to make NINE lane changes in near-zero visibility to get the hell off the highway. Praised every god there was that my bike was reliable enough to not give a damn about that weather!
Then earlier this year, I was caught on the DVP during that freak surprise hailstorm in April. I'm not sure what weather gods I've angered but at least they left me alone today!

I rode through the beginning, it hit just after 5pm when I was leaving work. The Gardiner started to form some pretty big puddles, traffic moved at about 30-40km/h, so cars weren't plowing too hard through them. The spray wasn't too bad but I did get hit a few times in the middle lane from big puddles from oncoming traffic. Decided that the DVP was probably going to be in really bad shape and got off at Lakeshore to take the surface route. Pretty glad I made that decision! I just got some new rain gear last week, and so far I am not regretting that decision 
Definitely the worst weather I have ever ridden in. I had a grin on my face most of the time, it's crazy but it's exciting.

When I got home, I yelled and redlined my bike in victory. Neighbours came out to see wtf was up lol
Honestly, that was hell. I was wearing glasses so I couldn't close the visor on my helmet (or glasses would fog). However, opening the visor ended up with rain pelleting my eyes and face, making me instinctively squint my eyes. I couldn't see **** and debated on pulling over multiple times under a bridge.
Scary **** is scary. Never again!

Saw a really nice Ducati on 404 South past around Finch exit, poor dude went onto 401 with me. I got stuck for 4 hours. Don't know about him.
i think i would lane split if i get stuck for more than an hour

****ing mad maxed it home from 401/Renforth to Yonge & Shepp. Every traffic light was out. Had to reroute due to: Martin Grove being flooded, truck on fire, some random **** on fire and an SUV+SUV t-bone on 27.

yeah I got caught in it around Eramosa... I stopped and waited out some of it then started back up towards Fergus, dried up a bit, then got back to Waterloo. Worst weather I've ridden in so far, I hated it... Getting blown around on water is a bad time... especially when you're being tailgated by some impatient farmer with a pickup truck. I'm happy I got home in one piece, I was nervous for a while.
Saw another miserable soul riding while I was waiting it out, he had rain gear though so he was probably in better shape than I was

Answer: When floating construction pylons start thumping into your car!
At that point, I turned into The Ex and higher ground to wait it out a bit. The Honda Indy barriers were blocking quite a bit of water too. It was amazing to see some drivers plow through borderline washouts without a care. The ones that weren't stranded, that is.
It's always food for thought when a brief rainstorm can easily shut down Toronto. Imagine if it rained like that for days. We'd have cannibal mobs by Friday.

Oh my god! After work (~5ish) I started from Concord to downtown via Allen rd.......and left my rain gear at home. By the end of it, I felt like I rode through a swimming pool. Absolutely everything was drenched.
I usually don't mind riding in the rain. Then again, I usually have my rain gear on.

Waited for the heaviest part to pass, left at 5:45 then rode from around Yorkdale to SW Scarb. Full rain gear, so no problem. A few lights out, and had to lane split on 1 back road with a huge (mostly) left turn back-up. Saw 1 other bike around Danforth & Warden. Cruiser rider with no rain gear & no face shield. He just gave me a big smile as I passed, Lol. Brought the bike for more fun today.

Good to hear you are all safe. I would think insurance companies consider flooding to be an "act of god" and not covered (depending on your company).
