You have them pointed the wrong way. The proper way to reduce wind resistance and improve aerodynamic performance is to have the pointy bits facing towards you.

now im not responding to the whole 3 pages of comments, but only to the OP comment
you took your bike out now? and youre wondering why you crashed? lol really?
theres a crap ton of sand/ice/crap/snow everywhere on the roads, your best bet is to wait for another month, and then ride!
you being impatient resulted in a smacked up bike! patience!!

He didn't crash. However, I did learn something from this thread. This will be my first time riding in the spring and black ice and road salt didn't cross my mind until I saw this.
 
brownbrady, word of advice, wait till you start seeing street sweepers out, thats a good sign to start coming out, oh and a few hard rains to wash everything towards the curbs

If you're used to off road riding drifting the back end on slow corners can be fun. Unless the back end tries to pass the front end. Then it gets really exciting.

When in doubt, add more throttle. It may not improve the situation but for sure it'll end the suspense!

This just may be my favourite post of all time! Lol!
And trust me when I say, NO ONE wants to see me twerk. Someone may end up in the hospital :s
