Any 600cc with quick shifter?

I don't know about you, but I don't see lightweight parts and fancy brakes, etc as requirements....sure they are nice to haves...but if suddenly bikes stopped coming with them I'm not going to huff and puff and stop riding.

I'm not talking about bikes coming equipped with them though. Someone else in this thread also mentioned that a QS wasn't "necessary" and gave a list of things they'd spend $250 on before a QS, including like a radial master cylinder, braided lines etc. My point was that bikes come from the factory already equipped with brakes sufficient to stop the bike in street traffic and that such add-ons were also "not necessary". I'm trying to find the distinction people are making between "approved" add-ons and those that aren't with regard to their necessity.

As for the 250 -> 650 comment that is just BS as well...

A valid point re passing speeds though you needn't have gone to a 650 to get that. A CBR500 would have easily sufficed; I had one, it was fine on the highway.

I think general point stands. If we're talking about "necessities" in general a big-inch, big-power bike isn't "necessary" for street use. Yet some of the folks opining that certain add-ons are not necessary for street use are very likely riding bikes the entirety of which is anachronistically "not necessary." Do you see what I'm getting at?

What I am somewhat against is when people say things like quickshifters are a requirement for a bike to be functional on the street, and complain about why all bikes aren't made with them stock.

I must have missed the post where that was said. Perhaps it would have been clearer had you "quoted" that message in particular to address that point.

Now, what you actually said (and what I quoted) was: "I can see having one being nice...but I still can't fathom why some see it as a necessity on the street (unless they plan on using the street as a track)." Does this response align with what you said about addressing someone saying "quickshifters are a requirement for a bike to be functional on the street"?

Quote the message of whoever said it, otherwise get out.

Yanny, you don't like riding on two lane roads, but want a bike that comes with a QS, you should come to the track and learn how to ride first. Than those scary two lane roads won't be so intimidating.

Your whole purpose of this thread was to find a 600 SS with a quickshifter...if that wasn't a requirement for you, then why'd you create the thread?
