My 2003 v star 1100 has a ais/air induction system & wanting to know if anyone has disabled this from their bike or from a v star 1100
I understand that it burns away unburnt fuel & it's a emission control device.
In the case of this being disabled will my garage smell of fuel as there may be unburnt fuel left in my exhaust or will the gas mileage be compromised.

Yes, many times. It is most common to disable it after an exhaust install that is causing an afterfire/decel lean condition. Almost always described as: "My bike backfires while coasting to a stop"...

Simple way to bypass: disconnect the vacuum control line at the rear cylinder intake manifold that runs to the rear of the bike and cap the ends off to prevent a vacuum leak. Then loop one of the larger rubber hoses back to the other hard line that runs to the exhaust ports.

There is absolutely no advantage to doing this except to get rid of that condition with aftermarket exhausts. The is no fuel mileage disadvantage, it will not negatively affect your gas mileage.
