Acewell issue

Hi everyone. This is my first post. I didn't even know I joined the forum back in 2011. I have bought an acewell gauge and in having a hard time hooking up the rpm wire to my 1978 cb550k. I've tried wrapping the wire around the spark plug wire and was not getting signal. I thought it was my bike so I tried it on a gs500e and still no signal. I tried it on a car and still no signal. My only option left is to connect it to the cdi. But I have no idea where the cdi is on this bike. Any info would really help.

maybe you have a defective gauge

Maybe you need new plug wires?

That means that the car and the gs500e would need new plug wires to. I did do the spark test on each to see if they were firing on all 4 cylinders and they are.

All I am saying is it is possible. Try calling Acewell/Electrosport and asking them?

Ps: What gauge is this? I was looking at a 3962 for my project bike.

Its the 2803 model. Yeah i'm trying to contact acewell right now. I've read plenty of good things about acewell and pulled the trigger on this one. Hopefully this will get sorted out.
