about motorcycle ABS "eye" sensor

what if the "eye" gets dirty? do we need to clean it?

I have yet to see an optical ABS sensor. Most are some some sort of inductive pickup.

Most likley an inductive proximity sensor not optical....Its sensing the metal and the gaps between it, not seeing them per say(optical)...

My CNC machines have a mix of optical and proxy sensors on them, the proxy are not affected by dirt and dust like the optical ones are...

It would be a reluctance sensor rather than an inductive one, but still no issue with cleaning.
