I picked up this item to help my wife feel more comfortable on the back of the Hayabusa
It's made of metal and screws onto the gas cap ring with longer screws. Installation is straight forward and takes minutes.

The wife really liked it. It prevented her from pressing into my back on braking and gave her much more security on acceleration, even when I hit the brake or throttle without warning.
Only problem I see is I likely won't be able to use my tank bag without taking it off.
Also, although in the way of a full tuck, I don't notice it when seated in normal riding position
