Hello all,

I have street parking near my work, Yonge and Finch area. A pic of the sign is posted below, on the meter itself it states '3 Hour Limit', do you think that count for motorcycles too? Sorry I am new to the city and still getting used to the signs. I was hoping I would be able to park there every day of course... :)

Hey bud. Are you parked on the northwest street in front of crazywings/the parking lot behind shoppers? I believe Green P pay&display parking is free for bikes around the city and no limit applies(Someone correct me if i'm wrong)

Hi, no I believe that is paid parking in the lot behind shoppers? This is on the West side of the North American Centre, in front of a big condo building...

The parking lot right behind shoppers is paid, i think. But the one right beside it, behind those korean restaurants, is a green p.

Great, so the consensus is that the 3 hour limit should apply where applicable for street parking, but in reality, it is rarely enforced.

The alternative is the TTC parking which is $5 a day, so assuming a $60 ticket once in a while, I can handle getting a ticket every two and a half working weeks in taht case. I'll give it a go then for sure.

Thanks for the info, just what I was looking for and kinda what I was expecting.

Chalked? Meaning, they mark the curb stone or something? lol, seriously?

I am hoping to get a sopt where I can see it from the office window anyway.

usually put a chalk mark behind your tire, come back 3 hours later, if chalk mark still there behind tire = ticket

Technically, I think you are supposed to go through at least one intersection before you can park there again (I think this is what I was told before) but I just usually went out rolled back about a foot, then did again going forward, etc etc

I've left my bike for over 24 hours at some side streets downtown with no midnight-7am reserved parking and no rush hour limits (when I'm drinking and don't want to ride home), never got tickets and the meter maids come around on the regular.
