2026 Rides

Good size buck,

Dashcam kept running and recorded pretty much the whole incident from the crash to getting loaded into the ambulance...
Off duty medic stopped to help as did a few passers-by. Some didn't even bother to slow down and sped by the scene.
The totality of response included two ambulances, one OPP, a raft of firefighters and several passersby and this one guy...
In the video as the drama unfolds... They'd put the bike up on its wheels so the camera was pointed right at the scene...
You can see this one guy walk out into the field where the deer lay dead...
It looks like he's putting gloves on and then he's bent over doing "something"...
Moments later he's walking back to his truck carrying the severed head of the buck... 'gets to the truck and tosses it into the bed.. Lol.

Anyway.... pending insurance outcome I know a guy who'll be looking for a replacement F800GSA... If the settlement turns out decent he might just say #### it and go buy a new F900GSA...
I love a happy ending

Is he alright? These crashes scare the crap out of me as there’s absolutely nothing you can do to prevent them most of the time.

4 days in hospital..
Broken ribs, punctured lung, broken collar bone, badly bruised elbow.
Brushing to left hip, ass, leg.
According to sissy boy... was very painful.
Still hurts a lot, but he's going light with the pain meds cuz he likes to ****.

What started as a phototag run today ended up turning into a nice little ride around the west end.

The weather was amazing compared to the last few days.

Thanks, @Wind Shear , for taking the lead. I was about to drop the tag and head straight home when I saw you.

A buddy and I took last weekend to ride the back roads up to Balsam Lake, camp and ride the cottage roads through the area. 503/507 etc. camp fire tales and laughs.

Floating the idea of trailering the bikes down east to Cape Breton and tour the Island/Cabot Trail. Perusing Marketplace for trailers……🤔

Buddy has a place in Port Hood NS.

Yes, we could ride out there but, the toaster tank is a 4 spd and prolonged transcanada travel at a buck twenty isn’t our idea of fun on either bike.

Sipped more than one beer through the mesh of the bug hat....

Sipped more than one beer through the mesh of the bug hat....

Friend’s Amazon purchase of the hats.……….came with zippers to open for sips……….however, the mesh remained! We laughed and laughed and laughed some more……

I pulled out the off spray and carried on our drinking into the evening……..

Side note, the rain came down Saturday afternoon and drenched the fire pit and wood. I had a torch and fire starter that lasted a short time……….friend pulled his fuel line to pour into a red cup that transferred the contents to the fire pit. We laughed and laughed……and laughed some more.

Another nugget of interest……..a single man tent has no graceful method to enter or exit………enough beverages made for a good night’s rest……

Could always take a more leisurely route through the US. Really nice roads and a much nicer ride.
We have a house right around the corner from Port Hood, lovely area. Had many a good time at the Red Shoe.
