Well time to shop around again, the crooks keep jacking up rates.
With Belair currently, and I'm suppose to have a Group rate, and loyalty discount and they come back with a increase of $350 from last year.

Calling around, everyone is quoting CAA as the best rate (it is) and everything else is over 2 grand. I've 33 years driving experience.
The tricky part with CAA the rate is good until they deep dive into your driver history, as they go back several years. Which isn't always consistent. Some say it's 20 years others 25, plus quotes from brokers or from CAA directly are all different.

It's fuking nuts!

CAA has been relatively painless for me. Rider's Choice is a broker for them, which makes it even more convenient. I would still switch away if there was a substantially better rate somewhere else, but so far they've been the best for a few years running now

We switched to CAA Last year with 4 cars and house insurance as they were over $1600 less than the renewal our broker sent us. The only downside is you need to book an appointment and go in to the office for any changes vs Me just calling our broker and taking the winter beater off the road and putting the summer one on. But for 30 minutes out of my life twice a year for that savings is well worth it.

Yeah right now CAA is the best rate. It's even better then my previous rate before the renewal.
I'm just waiting to hear back from one other agent, before deciding.
Mostly likely I will go with what Riders Choice offered with CAA.

I quoted with them last year, and they said because of a 50/50 fault collision in 2003, I don't qualify for their discount. So it's 25 years. For the record, 6 years n at-fault will negatively impact your premium, but companies can choose any time period to give you a discount. I know TD is 10 years accident free.

I quote every year, and CAA used to be the cheapest, but they recently raised it to $1400/year. I usually get about 1000-1200 at most companies. But the last time I quoted around, most places are much more, at around 1400.

$1000 - $1200 would be like a dream. Living in Scarborough seems to be a heat spot for insurance, always been much higher then that.
I guess you are not in Toronto or GTA?
Well CAA directly confirmed it was 25 years, but a broker said it was 20... I'm just going to go with whoever will give me the better CAA rate.

Some brokers are dumb. They know insurance, but may not know the unique discounts for each company they represent.

I'm midtown Toronto. For reference my car is low risk and cheap, drive very little, and have 24 years experience, with only one claim, and clean record.

Not sure if you are a CAA member. But you can get up to 5% discount on your insurance premium. May be worth getting it.
I am and there is a bit more of discount for how many years you are member.

Just got another quote from an agent broker and there best quote was with CAA. But here is the kicker it's much higher then the other quotes also with CAA, by about $700 . This is mine numbing.
