Agreed, I just started riding last year and it was the best decision I made.

Curious was it by accident you met up with other riders/bikers. Or the areas you went are frequent by bikers?

Freqent by bikers yes.
However cyclefish is a good site for finding gatherings in the USA.
Google is also a helpful tool.
Maggie Valley is a hotbed for bikes throughout the summer.
They run 4 small rally's down there that are worth checking out.
While working in Delaware i discovered places there from word of mouth.
A place like Hillbilly Hot Dog servers a great chili dog....a natural magnet for bikers

One thing I have experienced while riding. You do bump into some interesting people and places, and completely by accident. It really is surprising and makes the adventure of it very fun.
