2015 Yamaha FZ-07

I was looking to buy a new 2014 fz-07 and the salesman seemed great. Sent me a quote of $6499, I was pretty happy. Go in to the shop and sit down with the finance guy and things start ballooning from there. I was expecting $6499 - $300 yamaha credit plus fees and taxes. Pdi and freight is over $700 and I don't feel like I'm getting a good deal. I then ask him about the $300 yamaha credit and he leaves and comes back and tells me it was included in the price already. Things seem fishy to me now and I'm looking to back away. What do you think? Thanks folks.

$6499 for a leftover brand new '15 is a decent deal IMO. Most dealers will indeed charge you those fees, it's pretty standard. Though, when I bought mine last winter, I paid MSRP + tax. No discounts to be had on a brand new first model year bike in high demand, but the dealer ate the freight and PDI costs. Every other dealer I went to would not budge on the bike price (all MSRP) and wanted to charge me freight and PDI.

Shop around, and brush up on your negotiation skills!

Sounds about right. We got a new but last years FZ-08 at $6999 and then fees brought it up...but still was a sweet deal.

Considering yours retailed $7k US ...you likely got one of the last before our dollar plummetted so good timing - Your deal is equivalent to $4875 US !!
enjoy

Walk away if you're not comfortable with the deal. The sight of you getting up and saying "No thanks" might spur them to try harder.

I got mine brand new in 2014 and it cost just over $8000 all said and done. Thats a pretty Damn good deal you got there. Ask them to throw in some things like the comfort seat or other accessories. I wish I did.

Saw another dealer today, no 2015's left but $7500 on a 2016 out the door all fees except taxes. Should I pull the trigger? Thanks for the input folks, I'm a bit of a newb.

I just purchased a 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 from a dealer, it was used with a little less than 5,000 miles, I managed to talk him down to $6,200 out the door and I also get 20% off accessories, which I'll probably be getting a new helmet, Gloves and boots. Which will be another savings of about $100 when I'm done buying those with the 20% off. I haven't got around to picking it up yet, but I will answer more questions if you guys have any with what accessories I got brand model etc.

Don't get too excited with 20% off on access. It's like when Canadian Tire has 40% off every week on things ... Just do your homework.

Depends on the reviews....generally a year newer for $500 is a good deal.

For the same $7500 tho, if you are willing to drive ...

If you bought accessories online theyd probably be at least 20% less than what the dealer is charging anyways

This is my second bike, started on a honda cb300f to learn. The weird thing is that the yamaha feels smaller and more agile than my old 300. I am really happy about the purchase, the torque on the FZ is crazy. :D I bought the last 2015 that they had and costco had a $300 coupon.

it is illegal for a retailer to call a product on sale when the product is regularly sold at the advertised sale price so you might be mistaken on your comment, when an item is on sale, it is discounted from the Retail Price. Not talking CT specifically, just retail in general

Congrats, the new FZ series are great bikes.

I really like the looks of the fz07 specially with the separate passenger seat.

I was gonna buy the fz 09 but there are some sweet deals on the 07
