It might be old news, but I had gone dormant for a bit. I was toying with the idea of buying another street bike (if I don't get a track bike), and I was looking for the Monster 1100 but it has since been replaced by this:

Big specs on this bike. Lookswise, like the old monster design and the diavel had a baby. It does look pricier than the 1100 (especially the S model).

I like it.

With each succeeding new variation of the Monster, the more I like my original M900.

This one looks and performs better than any Monster before it.

Though I'm fairly sure this spells the end of the Streetfighter.. not sure how they'd place it in their lineup now that the Monster has gone liquid-cooled.

I was thinking the same thing, especially with the price point. But they just brought the Streetfighter 848 to market, so who knows...

What they need to do is bring back the Sportclassic. That should bring down the used priced market ;)

No undertail exhaust? ugnhhh... I fear the day that the R1 does away with them too.

don't worry...CBR 600 still has them :)

Ducati Gladius?

+2000, Ducati really needs to stop using CAD to design bikes and overstyle every single part on the bike.

I agree with you on one hand - Ducati over-styled the bike in an effort to make it look "muscular” and “moving even when parked”. Honestly, it looks somewhat bulbous, and bulging like a mechanical Hulk in the middle of its transformation, but not in a good way.

On the other hand, I can see most people warming up to this new design, in no time. The mechanical specs sound very good. It will be a hit.

sexy as always

How are the 1100 monster for long distance comfort? Ik like the 1200 Now that its liguid cooled. How are the insurence rates for mature (old) riders.

>$1000 for just liability. Assuming you can get insurance for comp, insurance companies no like Ducati parts costs.

Most bikes are now designed this way. They get a team and parse out component design, then assemble the components. It lacks a singular vision of one overall design, which is what the original had.

CAD had led to some fugly headlight and exhausts designs in the last 5 years.

They also feel obliged to do something different for the sake of difference.
