2012 CBR1000rr

I ride an 08, but the engine is the same as the 12. NO heat issues, maybe if your stuck in traffic in the middle of july the engine gives off a bit of heat when the fans come on, but it will not roast you.

Test rode one during a Honda demo day this past spring.
My right foot was roasting through my Alpinestars.
Mind you, we're talking about a casual pace. Going faster might be different.
Nice bike.

it gets warm? lol you guys are silly, i ride a tl1000r, that gets "warm"...... very....
i rode my friends 2011 cbr1000rr... very nice bike, very quick and nimble

Heat issues?

Are you guys idling bikes in traffic in 40+ degree weather?

Demo'd the repsol twice this year. Both times my right foot felt like it was on fire within 10 minutes. It got so hot I had to take my foot off the peg while riding to get some airflow over it. This was at a spirited pace with very few stops. The people demoing the two other 1000s said the same thing.

Don't remember having that issue when riding my buddies '09 so I don't know what has changed.

Rode one, probably my favorite bike out there. If you don't like hot, stay away from an R6 lol. 1000RR is the perfect SS bike. Tame enough for city riding and powerful enough for spirited rides.

I could understand the concern over the older ones that had undertail exhausts, but the new ones have side exhaust like every other bike out there with no piping going up the side.

Where exactly was the heat coming from?

It's only your foot that gets roasted. Everything else was fine.

I think the pipe being 2 inches under your foot plus the majority of engine heat exiting out the right hand side fairing work together to charbroil your boot.

Like I said, I have ridden an 09 which uses the same exhaust layout and didn't notice it.

Rode my friends 2012 HRC quite a few times. Never noticed a heat issue at all. He has the Taylor Made Exhaust on it so maybe that`s the difference? I can say it was probably the most fluid 1000 I have ridden wonderful bike!

My right foot gets hot, I have a Taylormade exhaust on the 08 and it's a little bit cooler then the stock exhaust on the 2012...
