What's a reasonable amount? 2 wheel insurance for a new rider in Ontario is unfriendly. That being said, you are picking something with a small engine so that should minimize the pain.

I heard scooter insurance is a lot cheaper than full-powered motorcycles.
Try giving J.R. Duffy or Cornerstone Insurance Brokers a call. Maybe even TD or RBC.

My guess would still be around $1500.

My reserch so far is as follows:
-Riders plus-they don't ensure anyone who is under 25
-Intact insurance-7,138$ a year or 602$ monthly
-Gold Wing- no insurance under 20 years old
-Statefarm- no insurance if licenced under 6 years
-Facility Association-3,700 a year or 308 a month
-J R R Duffy- no insurance for ppl who have experience less than 1 year
-Able insurance-2,000$
-Desjardins- 2,500
-Allstate gave me a quote for 1273 a year but when I called them back they denied that they even spoke with me.
-And the most ridiculous is aviva which is- 17,000 a year
still waiting for a call from
Vista insurance
Corner stone
Jevco insurance

My phone # is 647 400 2612 if you have any suggestions or questions

When I started on a 180cc scooter in 1999 I was insured for $1,650 a year for basic. I was 18 at the time. I think you'll do no better then $2,000 now.

This is my signature

When I was 16 (15 years ago) - insurance for my Yammy BWS/Zuma was $350 a year. Wow things have changed.

honestly, Ive been looking for insurance on a scooter too. I got a quote from td for a 2005 yamaha vino 125, they offered me insurance for $4000 as a 19year old m2 driver. Funny thing is that they offered me the same quote for a 2012 cbr250r, so clearly they are ripping me off. I had a similar problem with allstate, at first everyone was ready to give me a quote and then all of a sudden, just as the lady was telling me the quote, she realized that I'm 19 and I require a M license. She said if I did get my M next year, it would be about 1500-1800 on top of my existing car insurance with them. If you do find something cheap then please let me know as well. Thanks and I'll keep you posted.
