17 Inch Tires

So i recently took my Konker sm200 (Think suzuki DR200/125 clone) out into the trails, and came to the conclusion that the stock 17 inch street tires are no good in the dirt especially on loose sand.

Im not quite sure weather to go to dual sport tires or knobbies. Im planning on riding the bike mostly off road, but i live in mississauga, and most trails are quite far. I dont have anything that can bring the bike to the trails, so i want to be able to ride to them.

Here is what the bike has now

Rims
Front 2.50 - 17
Rear 3.00 - 17

Tires
Front 110/70 - 17
Rear 130/70 - 17

Im not exactly sure how the conversions work from metric to inch. From what i've read so far its a different conversion for street tires than it is for dirt tires and since im switching from one the the other im not sure which one to use.

Which tires would u guys recomend, and where is the best place to get them?

Due to the width of supermoto wheels you have to run a rear tire on the front. And you won't have the luxury of airing down for traction on the trail due to the fact that there aren't rim locks available for your wheels. Stay above 15psi and you should be fine.

Kenda K270 is what I ran. 5.10-17 rear and 4.60-17 front.

I was in front of the guy with the camera for the first couple minutes of the vid. The only thing that slowed me down was that hill cause it was a mudslide at that point.

They wear like Iron and do quite well once you leave the pavement.

Now if you want better forward traction at the expense of road manners. Go with the K760 on the rear. It'll howl on the road, wear a lot faster and can be scary in the rain on the pavement. I wouldn't run a 760 rear on the front.

One season of riding on the front of my DRZ before I switched to real offroad wheels. A six pack of Bud light and it's yours.

I'll definately take the 460 that you have.
Im not sure if i will put it front or back. I'll take the back wheel off and see how that tire fits in the back. if i have room for a bigger one then i'll get the 510 if not, then i'll put that one on the back and get a different front.
