09_04 weston and rogers rd GWS

Another left turner, this is starting to get a bit crazy. As I look back thru the posts this summer it's left turner, left turner, left turner, -- we really need some public awareness AND some really heavy penalties for drivers making these careless errors. If they were knocking pedestrians or cyclists down at this rate politicians and police would be lit up.

Rider is in the ICU @ Sunnybrook and was due to have surgery this morning.

Word is he's a bit banged up but all things considered is doing OK.

EDIT: Sadly i was just informed his injuries are greater then 'banged up.'

Broken pelvis in multiple places, will require eye surgery, broken nose and ruptured spleen.

Gonna be a long ride back to normal for this fellow. Hard to believe a professional driver could make such a careless mistake, I wish the media would followup on these events, the public needs to know there are penalties and there is suffering.

When I think of the penalty for speeding without aggravated circumstances compared to an illegal left turn II have to shake my head.
