Cast for my broken left wrist was off a couple of weeks ago, Both wrists have "Soft tissue damage" which I think means "Sprained". Doing physio exercises for the wrists every day. It hurts after the exercises but I guess that is what it takes to get better. Might be a while but 8 inches of...

Some of you may know I was involved in a motorcycle Crash on Oct 5, 2025 in Calgary. ( I moved to Calgary July 1, 2025) (BTW This was my first real crash since I got back to riding July of 2006 and over 856,347.00 km / 532108. miles of riding since July 2006) I broke my wrist...

    Aching Shoulders

There are a lot of variations but they all work the same way. My Rox Riser on my DL1050 has the ability to adjust height and back. I nevrer adjusted it though. ..Tom

    Aching Shoulders

On my DL1000 and on my DL1050 I had to move the cables to behind the forks to give enough slack after installing the riser. I think I did the same on my 650's but not sure. Either way it wasn't a big deal to do. ..Tom

Seat comfort matters a lot to me and I also added a handlebar riser to all four of the Stroms I owned (and own.) I think they always were up and back one inch. I'm 6'2" in the morning and have had arthritis for about 40 years. (The actual real) cruise control that my current bike has helps...

    Aching Shoulders

I added a Corbin to my first DL650 (2006) I actually wore out the leather and got a sceond one. The Corbin on it was really comfy. I bought a Corbin for my 2nd 650 (2012) and it was nowhere close in comfort to the 2006 Corbin's. (I think there was a manufacturing/ordering mistake made for the...

    Aching Shoulders

I enjoy letting go of the handlebar when riding in heavy winds. It's amazing at how motorcycles are naturally stable in cross wind conditions if we don't interfere. Most of the time I ride with a light touch in the wind. The tighter you hold in to the grips the more the bike will move off...

My seat is a "Russell Day Long" (RDL) It is the favorite of long distance riders and Iron Butt riders and I understand why. My longest day ended up being 1,600 km. (I went riding the next day.) For the last five years I have been riding out to Calgary. It is about 3,300 km from my home...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

It was a beautiful day today! I only did a little round the block of just over 300 km (Port Perry to Bewdley to Cambellford, to Cobourg to Port hope and mainly back roads to home.) Most of the time the temperature hovered around 19c with one time it hit 21c. Beautiful riding weather! Saw lots...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

Rode in to work today. Balmy -7 when I left home in Port Perry. On my ride in to work I briefly saw a motorcycle heading northbound on Baldwin in Brooklyn. I was southbound. Like most riders my brain is tuned to seeing bikes but this bike just seemed to appear out of nowhere. I didn't really...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

Why would you let it idle for 10 minutes? Is it an older carb bike that doesn't run right until warmed up? ..Tom

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

I rode to work today (downtown Toronto). Saw a sport bike heading north on DVP at around 9:15 am. (I was southbound) Don't know what brand of bike but I think it was red (I'm somewhat colour blind) so probably a Honda. .. Tom

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

I went out for a little ride today (only about 150km) Met up with @85K100 at Timmies in Sutton. I took a photo from the Malone rd viewing point that we were talking about previously. I did see someone riding in Port Perry and someone else riding closer to Sutton but don't recall where. It's...
