Licence testing for towing recreational trailers ?

So many overloaded trucks - The commercials and RV dealers are to blame - you see a Toyota pulling 100,000 pounds on TV; you roll into the RV dealership with a 3/4t and the salesman says you can pull anything on the lot. Without understanding axle weights, GVWR/GCWR, tongue weights, payloads...

Licence testing for towing recreational trailers ?

Our entire testing and licensing system could use an upgrade... Some Scandinavian countries require both summer and winter driving tests - I'd support this in Canada, for instance. Towing, could definately be a separate endorsement on the license - I pull a 26' foot camper (roughly 6500#...

Licence testing for towing recreational trailers ?

Correct - but incorrect, as well... as long as you're legal in your home jurisdiction (Michigan, looking at you) - you can legally drive in reciprocal territories. Michigan's got some pretty relaxed double-tow requirements, and we get lots of them into Northern Ontario in moose season.

    Anyone use Batteryclerk.ca?

This... I'm in the battery business - mostly telecom and reserve; but batteries are batteries. There's only about 3-4 companies that make batteries; and label them for OEMs, "Name Brands" and off-labels... you're paying for the name and warranty - the product itself isn't any different.

    Anyone use Batteryclerk.ca?

Fairly common - or take an older, spent battery; rehydrate it and flip it fast. It'll test fine for 3-4 months, before it dries out again....

    Anyone use Batteryclerk.ca?

Walmart batteries are made by East Penn - they white-label most house brand batteries these days (NAPA, Canadian Tire, Green&Ross, among others)... And they're managed by the vendor, so they're rotated and fairly fresh.

    RIDE campaign

.08 is a criminal charge (impaired operation, operation over .08) - .05 is an "administrative" penalty, suspend your licence for 3 days. If you're on a graduated license (G1, G2, M1, M2) the limit is 0.00 - so any alcohol in your system is no bueno and will be an impaired charge... Short...

    900,000 students coming in…

Where is this $670 a month coming from? And do the international students not have money for available housing, or is there no housing available? Those are two different problems... If there's no housing available, the college needs to stop accepting students; if there is housing available...

    Pickup Trucks

Half ton Rams use coil springs in the rear - payload is typically 500-900 lbs lighter then a similarly equipped truck from another brand with leafs... Ram rides WAY nicer unloaded, but sags hard under any kind of weight. Solution is factory or aftermarket air ride - which works nicely, but...

    Pickup Trucks

Late to this party - and just catching up... I drive an '18 GMC with the 5.3 V8 - get 12.5l/100km in real-world mileage - pretty much identical to my wife's Explorer - 1600 lbs payload, towing of about 11k (in theory) - I routinely tow a 7000 lb travel trailer with no issues. 1/2t (1500...

Resources for Electrical Knowledge, Connectors, Tools etc.

I crimp all kind of connectors (from 22ga to 750mcm - so from telephone/ethernet wire to power cable as big as your wrist)... A good crimp tool is key... Ratcheting is good, makes a better connection; and the combo strip/crimp tool from Crappy Tire/parts stores are, frankly, crap...

CAA towing cost for more than allotted mileage?

I have CAA Plus w/ RV coverage... Between the wife's SUV, the trick, the travel trailer and the bike - my ass should be covered for any issues I run into (knock on wood, in around 10 years I've needed lock-out service once, and that's it)

CAA towing cost for more than allotted mileage?

Used to be a 48 hour period between upgrading and the upgrade taking effect (or getting CAA and using it)... Just to keep people from upgrading on the spot or getting CAA because it's cheaper then the direct tow.

A Progressive Conservative ticket - A fiscal conservative, who stays the eff away from the moral/religious minefield, could run away with the popular vote... But we don't have that option available. PP talks the talk, but he's not cast the extremists out of the tent; and even as a...
