What Are You Currently Listening To?

Nice! Yeah, Dean seems pretty great. I only started listening to Archspire after I bought a ticket last week, but had seen some of his 4 levels of death metal stuff on youtube. I totally understand that about vocals in a lot of extreme metal. There are a lot of things I listen to now that...

What Are You Currently Listening To?

Last week I heard that Archspire's coming to Toronto in April, so I bought a ticket and have been listening to their discography (trigger warning I guess, if you don't like death metal)

    2025/26 winter motorcycle projects?

Rice Rocket has been reasonable for powder coating. A number of people on here have had their wheels done by them. I had some work parts powder coated there years ago and it was quite reasonable. Rice Rocket Custom Powder Coating Toronto GTA

Getting to see these guys play the Art of Dying is still one of my favourite concert moments

    Coffee

This is true. Bean roast level and processing method (washed, natural, honey, etc.) both come into play. With super light, washed process coffees, you can really push the temperature, while doing the same with a darker roast or natural process coffee will extract more bitter flavours.

    Coffee

As others said, French press or moka pot using beans you grind would be pretty easy and would get you miles ahead of pre-ground stuff out of most drip machines. My wife's not really a coffee enthusiast but found both those methods to be pretty approachable. Initially she played around a bit...

    VRRA at Mosport this weekend

That MV triple was one of the highlights of the day. As soon as they fired it up it drew a crowd. I don’t think anyone was disappointed that they had it running for quite a while. It went out with the other Team Obsolete bikes for a few laps during the lunch break. No RC166, but someone did...

$60 Wheel Balancer at Princess Auto

Yea, lacking a stand (or the means to easily make one at the time) was the main reason I picked up the PA one over the Marc Parnes set a few years ago. It’s been good enough for my use (3 wheels balanced). It also looks like in the time since I got it, they’ve added washers so the bearings...

    Did you exercise today?

You’ve probably come across them already, but the Pete Plan and beginner Pete Plan are great for being able to just put your head down and make progress, which can be pretty motivating. C2 also a calendar of events and challenges. And if you’re using the C2 log book, new season starts today.

    Favourite hand tools

I bought the Hozan 4 pack about 10 years ago and they’ve held up ok. I use the Vessel ball grip driver the most now, though. The Vessel Megadora ones always looked the nicest but are a bit spendy.

    Favourite hand tools

Not the most frequently used tools, but ones that I like having when I need them are Koken’s “wobble fix” extensions and their spark plug sockets that have brass spring clips. The extensions can convert between being fixed or allowing +/-15 degrees of rotation. With this rotation, I could...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Before I had a garage, I had to remove a stubborn filter and had the same pair of pliers. It looks like they’re just slipping on the filter. I ended up getting the pliers to really dig in and crush the filter somewhat. Once the slippage is gone, they should give enough leverage to get it...

    2024 Weekly BurgeRR Meetup - Wednesdays @7PM

I would feel bad about missing the meetup that’s closest to me, but we’re on standby for baby arrival. If I’m not there, it would be because things are happening on that front

    Sport touring tire recommendations

I’ve liked the Road 5 and now 6. I bought mainly on durability and all weather performance and was not let down. Before the Road 5s, the bike had some marginal Bridgestones that didn’t inspire confidence in the wet (don’t remember the model).
