Not really too far fetched. I had my SV650 insured with a fresh M2 last year for $800, added a Ducati Streetfighter 848 this year, full coverage for it was $1300 through Allstate. 30 years old and had to restart my motorcycle license here last year because it lapsed back in BC years ago.

The rates in the GTA are absolutely insane. I remember years ago in BC, insuring a ZX6R at 19, with a year of riding experience and it cost me $800!
