Surprised you guys didn't go the 690/701 route as it's still much lighter than your previous ADV bikes, and with super long intervals as well. Price isn't much different from the 500/501 either.

Where are you coming from? I usually ride further north in the Kawarthas between Kinmount and Gooderham. There are tons of trails and exhilarating fire roads that are suitable for big bikes up there.

Like smoking in movies, there should be an unwritten rule about operating motorcycles without helmets. DP is an R-Rated movie though, and the no smoking rule applies to PG-13 and lower IIRC.

I have one of these for my XR650L and I wouldn't recommend it if you do any semi-serious offroading. Fine for street though.
