My Rookie Mistake: Wide Right, Target Fixation, Failure to Look Ahead

Not stopping for the red is something tons of riders do for right turns, may not be the right way to go about it but it happens. What makes it dangerous is about half way through, you are already committed to the turn but you haven't checked if it was safe to do so, we can see this because your...

How many km on your bike this season?

I was fine, the way she hit me put most of the impact into the bike. She was given careless driving and a summons, so she will have to take it up with the judge but I was wearing a Go Pro at the time so the chances of her getting out of that are pretty slim. Some real crazies out there.

How many km on your bike this season?

Brand new ninja - Put just under 4k on the clock right up until some lady decided she "hates bikers" and rammed me with her car at 90. Some people..:angry7:

    Drz400sm vs wr250x

That bike is gorgeous! I would trade my 300 for it :D

    Thinking about downsizing....anyone done it?

The 300 is an awesome bike until you hit the highway, the windscreen just directs the wind at your chest (6'1 rider) and anything above 120 you have about the same power as a 4cyl car. If you open up the throttle it will still easily climb to 160/170 but it will take it some time. Also the bike...

    Route Options for Road Trip?

So I'm planning a trip down to Tail of the Dragon in late August. Have had a few road blocks thrown in the way including an accident last Friday that put the bike into the shop for a bit (hit by a car). But hopefully that will all get sorted out and I will be back on two wheels soon enough. I...

    Motorcycle Drive In

Went to the 5 Drive In (Oakville) about two weeks ago on a Friday, showed up an hour before the movies started and only had to wait for 3 cars there was barely any waiting, so if you want a good spot going 1-1.5 hours before the movies start is always a good idea. Long weekends and all nighters...

Should be a huge turnout since it's the only one. It's the first time I'm going as well. Pretty excited to see everything down there. A customer at work brought it up when they saw my helmet the other day and asked if I was heading down, and until then I wasn't planning on it. After hearing a...

PSA - big rigs and blind spots

All of those bikes except for maybe the one to the right of the picture are in veiw, that's exactly why those convex mirrors are attached to the front fenders. The driver may not have a good view but if they are checking they will see enough of a blob in those mirrors to think twice about moving...

2014 Kawasaki Ninja 300 ABS SE

I agree with you 95% that they are almost the same, just when you go to sell also (as most of us will) the 2013 vs 2014 resale might give you an edge, and getting the most amount back will factor into the saving a few bucks long term. 1 year newer, made in Japan, not as many recall issues, just...

2014 Kawasaki Ninja 300 ABS SE

Not quite, maybe do some research on kawi and the 2013 lineup. The 2014 production for Kawi bikes was moved to Japan due to quality control issues (eg. faring gaps, ECU problems, rough set ups, just ****** work in general.) This includes the 636 and a few other bikes as well. I would also...

    New Bike New Season

What are the spyders like on the road, I would imagine that's quite an odd handling vehicle? Are they much fun or more like a car with a very big sunroof?

No hate here, I split and pass when its safe to do so but you will never see me going over 100 through cars that are barely moving and constantly changing lanes, and when your clipping mirrors you're just being unsafe, which is why I called the other rider crazy. Time and a place for everything...

That's where it should be done, once you get on the back roads/out of the city tear it up all you want, but when everyone else is going 40 and traffic is thick it's a good idea to take er easy for a bit. Anyone riding this afternoon?

    New Bike New Season

That's awesome! I remember when mine came, best feeling ever to finally be on two wheels! Nice, the Evo is a buddy's. 2014 EvoX GSR, wicked car even stock, but rolling start from about 30km/h to 4th gear the ninja has it beat.

Exactly. But the majority of riders I've met in KW so far seem to ride like this. :dontknow:
