    Canada Post - Huge losses

Genuine question... did you read the actual offer and more importantly, did you understand it? Dymamic routing - it's something that CP is refusing to budge on. Basically, they want to adjust route lengths on a daily basis. If it's a light day, you may end up walking 30km, and people at the...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

So… CP has rejected CUPW’s offer of postponing the strike. They want CUPW to accept it as is, without proper scrutineering. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/canada-post-rejects-union-s-offer-to-delay-potential-strike/ar-AA1FdQds?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=fc1dd4c754b04871974b6cc6bcbf2909&ei=68

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Last I heard, it hasn't been delivered yet. Could have been during my commute home (started at 4am). CUPW offered to suspend strike action for at least 2 weeks pending CP sending an offer in today. Me, I've only got 4 years, 7 months seniority. I'll be one of the first ones out the door if CP...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Technically, it's the same strike. We were forced back to work with the gov't mandate ending on the 22nd. As for being slimy, CP has walked away from the table 3x. Leaving CUPW sitting there for hours on end wondering if CP was coming back. They didn't. CP has also broken the CBA (was...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Actually, from what I understand, CUPW offered up weekend assignments for regular posties making non-overtime wages. Volunteer position. After that, it goes to casual workers who are desperate for hours…

    Covid Vacs

Read the link supplied by TwistedKestrel with AN OPEN MIND. It seems to me you've gone down the far right misinformation pipeline and have swallowed it whole. The main docs being interviewed are basically Q-Anon - Ivermectin cures Covid! Absolutely piles of horse poop. I know, sometimes...

So far it's a bit more interesting than MotoGP this year!

So, for anyone who streams using ServusTV, I ran into a new predicament for the first time today…. They’ve changed their coding somehow or another - if you’re using an Apple product, you cannot cast the stream to another device (TV, AppleTV etc). Tried it with the iPad and with the desktop...

If all you want is a conversation starter pick up a Yamaha Niken. Buddy of mine loved the bike but hated the attention.

I hear you… Some people don’t care about their lawn being walked on, others do. If I ever walk across a person’s lawn, it’s usually only after they have told me it’s OK to do so, and then I always take a slightly different path so I’m not stomping on the same blades of grass every day etc.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Simply put up a sign saying "Please stay off the grass." Done deal. They walk across it again, call in a complaint. Letter carrier will get ******* at. Keep reporting it as necessary. After 3rd report LC will be suspended without pay for a week.

I’m hoping that WSS and WSBK are more competitive this year. From what we’ve seen in MotoGP so far, it’s going to be somewhat of a boring season. Same guys, same bikes at the top. Hopefully Martin can gel with the Aprilia quickly and get on par/better than Ogura within 2 race weekends. He’s...

That’s the problem… I’m not experienced in the trades. I’ve done a bunch of home renovations including plumbing, electrical, knocking down walls, drywalling etc. But I wouldn’t say I can hold a candle to a proper tradesperson.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Interesting idea. But they would all need to have proper level 2 security checks etc. Delivering registered mail, passports etc.

I’m getting old… 55 in April… don’t know how many trades would be interested in hiring someone my age.

And if I get rehired after PP decides to sell and make it private sector (if PP wins of course), I will go back at a significantly decreased wage and most benefits cut. It’s a VERY physically demanding job, and a large percentage of retiring posties need hip replacements, walk with canes etc...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Nope. 4.5 years means diddly squat. If they cut even 1/4 of posties I have no idea how on earth routes will be delivered. Last week I had a day with 44,000 steps taken. If you expect me to add another 11,000 steps in a day to make up for the 1/3 cut in staff, that’s a ludicrous proposal.

Technically, we are still on strike, but were mandated back to work. When the mandate ends we are still in continuing legal strike action if there is no new agreement. I really DON’T want to go back on the picket line. I just want to work with some reasonable job security.

So, after watching the sprint race… I’ll admit I’m jumping the gun a bit, but I am a bit concerned it will be like the last season that Jorge Lorenzo won the championship. If MM gets ahead at the beginning of the race, that’s it. Game over. He’s on the best machine and is one of the top 2 riders...

    2025 WSBK Thread

SPOILERS are Allowed. So, did anyone catch the WSBK races from Philip Island this past weekend? Couple of surprises, but much like MotoGP, it seems as though the series is dominated by the sheer number of Ducatis in the paddock. The racing in general was decent with lots of passing throughout.
