agreed with the above...yes you probably will be fine just doing the M2 exit test...but I found it beneficial to do a course and have some of my bad habits pointed out
No.
When we do these rides we don't really have a set schedule or plan.
Al we have is a start/end date and a place to store the truck & trailer.
So we don't know where we'll be at the end of each day...hence the camping 😊
To me and my buddies that's part of the adventure ;)
Done a few BDRs.
We like to ride them from start to finish and find a storage place near the middle.
In Colorado we store the truck & trailer here: Alma and Fairplay Storage
We did it Colorado early September in 2018 ->
In June there still can be snow in the higher altitudes.
When I moved to Canada back in 1992 I had 60 days to get my drivers license.
When I took the test it was in a compound on Airport Rd in Brampton.
I remember thinking 'wow this is a joke compared to the test I had to take back in Belgium'
IMHO depends on your bike, battery location, on/off road, usage of bike.
In my case the battery is where on most bikes the gas tank is, at the top behind the handlebars.
Switching from the stock battery to lithium saved me 4 kg:
There is the TCAT: Gravel Travel Canada - Routes
The Trans Québec Trail: Sentiers Trans-Québec Trail - Home
Shorter, the Pick Axe loop: Adventure Route
I also hear that a Trans Ontario Trail (like the TQT) is in the works.
Lots out there ;)
