Another new toy: Freya J-em guitar

LOL, yep, not many "tasty curves" on the road between either but I've ridden as far as Montreal for a opportunity to jam before an audience. ;)

Yes, they need to be played. My poor Fender 12 string sat in a closet at my Dad's for years with no humidity control and it soaked up too much water, even the truss rod appears to be rusted (it doesn't turn, only squeeks). A little humidity is good, too much is very bad. :( I'm working up the...

Yeah, don't blame you on that one. If I had a D28, I'd keep it under lock and key and awy from uv and humidity and temperature changes and... ;)

Cool, No, she's a 6 string, standard tuning. I do have a Douglas (another low cost guitar) 7 string, again standard tuning with the 'extra' string tuned to B. I've tried other tunings but my theory knowledge is best with standard. ;) I do keep a Les Paul tuned to DADGAD for playing zeppelin...

No you're bragging. ;) As much as I'd love a Martin, or a real JEM for that matter, I just can't justify the expense, maybe one day when I'm good enough that the paying gigs actually pay more than the outlay for the PA and the bar tab. ;) Some more "soul" for the merry-go-rounders ;)...

lol, thanks for the advise on phrasing, yes it was "just a mess of notes", I originally posted it (quickly) to refute a bad review of this guitar by a bunch of haters. Bunmanchi, I prefer Hendrix's version better, less 'sanitised'. As for the 'lifeless' comment, too each his own form of life...

Another new toy: Freya J-em guitar

Very VERY happy with my clone guitar, bought from Freya (a mom/pop shop in Ireland), the owner is a luthier and hand picks/assembles and sets up guitars. I wanted an Ibanez JEM but couldn't justify the cost. I bought this expecting to have to do a lot of the work to make it playable myself. I...

New Stats about Canadian Households/Families came out - Pretty Interesting Stuff

Clearing up some chit here. The xx% (not sure that's number) rule is not a limit to the mortgage you can get but, the point at which you must seek CMHC (and pay some overheads) approval. Avoid it if you can. What's driving prices? Foreign investment, clean and simple. The rest of the world is...

New Stats about Canadian Households/Families came out - Pretty Interesting Stuff

Not usre where this is going but in my age bracket (I'm 50) I've seen far too many couples "stick it out for the children". I'm not convinced this is always the best for the kids. I have a few friends that divorced recently and everyone seems better off, especially the kids. The only one that...

How often do you change your oil ???

True, I think it should also depend on your riding style and conditions. I tend to change earlier if I've seen a few high temp situations like when I got caught in traffic in Montreal on a sweltering day and saw the temp hit red. :(
