Thanks for the responses.
If there wasn’t a lockdown I’d be able to test ride the triumph and compare it to my experience on the CB650R, but unfortunately that scene is gridlocked by the current lockdowns. That’s ideally what I’d like to do.
Used CB650R or New Trident 660?
Hey guys,
I’ve ridden various road bikes over the span of just over a decade and I’ve settled comfortably on the idea that my type of ride falls within the naked sport bike category. Most of my rides are within the city with the odd weekend jaunt in the country...
This thread makes my head hurt.
Anywhere you bring up this discussion you’ll get different answers depending on the demographic it’s being presented to.
I would love to see what demographic currently dominates this thread and with which side their opinions align.
I'm around the OP's age and have four children. My wife is very understanding when it comes to me riding motorcycles because I've shown her that its just a hobby and family comes first. During the years between my second and fourth child, I found myself making excuses not to ride. The typical...

I don’t think kijiji people are evil. Painting everyone with the same brush is slightly presumptuous especially since most people who are replying to the thread seem to think they buy and sell fairly. That tells us that not everybody is evil. Does this make sense?
Rev matching while downshifting is usually required. I find going from 6 -> 5 doesn’t feel like it needs any sort of throttle input. The other gears definitely need throttle input if you’re downshifting from high speeds like when you’re exiting the freeway.
I read all the comments here and I’m...
I don’t think a project bike is the way to go unless you love fixing broken things that don’t work. I went through this recently, sold my bike then bought another and it brought the excitement back immediately. I’ve actually gone through a few bikes this season and it’s definitely made things...

Decent price, too bad it’s located in a town called “Swastika”. Maybe I’ll call my Aryan friend to pick it up for me. [emoji23]
So, as embarrassing as this is, the number I was looking at on the tire wasn't the manufacture date. I was wondering why it looked different than what I was used to seeing. The dates are on the left side of the bike and the way I park the motorcycle in my garage makes the left side...
They’re as hard as Ron Jeremy. I guess it looks like I’ll be swapping them out.
Edit: thanks for all the suggestions and tips. I don’t normally do the nail test so that’s something I probably should have known from riding for years.
I rode 220km with a 10 minute stop at the halfway point going freeway speeds almost all the way. Once in got back I noticed some strange wear on my rear tire. Some initial research points to a minor case of “tire shred”. My tire was made sometime in 2012 even though the bike is a 2017 model so...
