    Bike safety in Durham region?

Hi all. Looking for someone to do a safety cert on my bike. I am selling it and the buyer asked me to safety it, to which I agreed to try. Normally I would use Rosey Toes (Ted), but I am in Ajax and currently working in the opposite direction and it's difficult for me to schedule time to get...

    Food Delivery App Question

When I registered for Uber eats I accidentally uploaded the pic of my scooter ownership instead of the car. 600 cc scooter, not e-bike. They added it and it showed up as a vehicle in my app. I sent them the car ownership later and they added it, then both vehicles showed up on my app. Maybe...

    ******* taxi drivers

I got to work today at my building on king street east, I park my bike on the street in front there is always room for a couple of cars and bikes, today a taxi was blocking the end of the curb and a driveway going into the private parking, he was half pulled over so he wasn't blocking live lanes...

Confused about UVIP - as a seller, do i NEED to provide it?

I bought my bike this year, the seller was in London and I am in Ajax...I asked him to send me the VIN and used that to order a vehicle history at my expense, then I drove out and bought it. It was a Honda Silverwing scooter so there wasnt' much to scrutinize. When I registered the bike the...

The 6 to Vancouver - packing list and preparation

I did this trip on a 600 Katana back in 2003, I was a real novice at the time for distance touring. I took me 6 days and I rode long days, from 9:00 AM or earlier into the evening hours. When the sun set I remember looking for a hotel and stopping - I didn't do much exploring with the intent...

In case you were wondering about those big scoots.....

Re: Continuously Variable Nerves. Thanks I was scanning the used market for Burgmans (400 and 650), T-Max, and Silverwings. This one came along and having done my research I went for it. I can handle most maintenance on my own and I won't likely to do much major touring, maybe a couple of...

In case you were wondering about those big scoots.....

Re: Continuously Variable Nerves. I was always interested in the Burgman and when this thread was created I have been following along, I have been without a bike for two years, last ride was a Vulcan 900 which I sold to set an example for my then wife about budgetary responsibility, separated a...

    Quebec

I'm not trying to avoid paying Ontario sales tax, I'm trying to avoid paying both provincial taxes. I read some other threads on this topic in the forum. If dealer charges the Quebec tax there is a process to fill out papers to get it back. No matter what you have to give Kathleen Wynne her...

    Quebec

Thanks for all the replies. My preference would be to find a bike in Toronto but I'm looking for a Honda Silverwing (the scooter not the touring bike from then80s) and they are kind of hard to find locally. I wont get anything without seeing it first, that is good advice. I can always find a...

    Quebec

Ahh it's a newer van I wouldn't want to risk damaging the bike and the van. Isn't this the method of choice for condo thrives? Besides its a silverwing, they are pretty big as far as scoots go..

    Quebec

It's true I would never buy a car there, I asked them for a history report on the scoot. Part of this post is to see if anyone has dealt with this dealership. For $2000 not as bad a risk as buying a 'rebuilt' car... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Quebec

Looking for advice. Want something to have fun on this season and decided on a big scoot. The 'big scoot' thread in this forum inspired me. I know what I want and will have no regrets. Found one at a Quebec dealer, price is ok, currently negotiating a deal and he says it's no problem...

Sold my quick - question about process

It's been a while since I sold a vehicle. Just wondering a couple of things: -we made the deal already but I didn't get the UVIP. Should I go get that now? Should I just take him with me to the ministry to get the whole transfer done? -He asked me to put a lower value on the bill of sale so...

Changing tires recommended shops - Durham

I think its a little more on tires, but around there...maybe $80. On labor only Clarington wasn't bad, they said $85 + $16 + $maybe more. If everything went smoothly then it would have been $85+$16+tax, so about $114 to install the tires I bought online...not much more than Rosy Toes, assuming...

Changing tires recommended shops - Durham

By buying the tires online I seem to be saving about $30 per tire. For just labor Rosy Toes is charging $80, one of the others quoted $180, and the other quoted $85 + $16 for not buying tires from them + potentially more if there are issues such as removing the pipes. The last one seems close...

Changing tires recommended shops - Durham

Thanks for all the replies. In the end I am going with Rosy Toes. The others just couldn't match his price for the swap - and he doesn't charge extra if you don't buy the tires from him - in fact when I told him the price I would get the tires for online, he encouraged me to buy them and go...

Changing tires recommended shops - Durham

Hi everyone. I have a 2006 Vulcan, my rear tire has a slow leak and I've decided to change both front and rear. I'm selling the bike, but it needs new rubber anyway and tires aren't that expensive. I know shops like Rosey Toes will change the tire on the rim for around $10, but I don't trust...

    sportbikes to cruiser

Went from an 03 VFR 800 to an 06 Vulcan 900 a couple of years ago. At first the Kawi felt so sluggish and slow, and heavy compared to the VFR. The viffer is heavier than the bikes you've ridden, so you would feel the same even more so. Eventually I got used to it. It's the most fun I've had...

    Florida Rentals and Rides..

Possibly driving down to Orlando in Feb with a group of guys on a golf vacation. They already have 4 for golf and I haven't golfed in years, I just want to get out of the cold and get some sun - and I'm looking at the possibility of renting a bike for a day or two and doing some exploring...
