    i spend a lot of time at holiday valley in elicottville, ny. weeknights there's virtually no lineup, and the pick-a-night passes are super super cheap. (pay for themselves in like 4 nights)

    well, i'm partial to GT's bikes (hence the screenname ;)), but i'd definitely check out GT's Force 1.0 and the Sanction 2.0. Both are in (roughly) your price range and have great reviews. You could always check shops for last years model to try and save some cash, too. GT Force 1.0...
