Is the SFV650 a good starter bike?

I learned to ride on an SV650 20 years ago. Great bike, and if I had to do it all over again, I would. I guess it also depends on how confident of a rider you are. If you are skiddish, then yea, maybe you want to start on something really forgiving. But I personally wouldn't have any...

Looking for riders in york region or north gta

There used to be a York Region Sport Bikes Group...but that is pretty much dead now. I'm up in Richmond Hill and don't really know of any active groups.

    Aftermarket Fairings

That's about as cheap as you can go unless you get lucky and find something used on eBay. Next best stuff is the aftermarket product from China that one can find on AliExpress.

Are you old enough to remember these motorcycle shops in To?

Re: The sticker on the back of my GT750... Yup. Remember most of these. Bought my first lid from Carl at CycleWorld in Scarborough, first bike from McBride, and then used to frequent Jamie at 55 Degreez.

    ecu flash

I used Superbike Unlimited in the US. Mail in service for $200 bucks. They spent some time understanding my needs, and then re-programmed the stock settings using the FT ECU bench, and input a map based on the mods I've done on my bike. I also picked up the FTECU AFR active tune, which...

Buying a brand new motorcycle & want to negotiate the price

Dealers make 3k plus freight and PDI on something like a new R1. Give or take for anything else in the same class. Don't go in expecting the deal of the century unless the manufacturer is offering something. Margins are simply not there.

Bikes with good suspension - I've never tried one:(

I've ridden some 3 way factory adjustable stuff that was really good for certain applications. Not as fancy as the new electronically adjustable suspensions like what you find on the R1M, but it got the job done really well when dialed in right. I couldn't afford dropping $5K on Ohlins front...

What kind of gas you guys use?

Ultramar and Canadian Tire in Ontario buy most of their volume from Imperial Oil (Esso). Ultramar doesn't have refineries in Ontario, so they work on an exchange program with Esso...basically, they buy from Esso in Ontario, and Esso buys from them in Quebec. Canadian Tire...They have zero...

Help me choose my next motorcycle - 899 Panigale vs CBR 1000RR vs 675R

If I had to choose between just those 3....Ducati. Honda - It'll last forever, but in the 1000cc class, it's not leading the pack by any means. No electronics, slightly down on power, and...well, it's boring. 675 - Nearly as much maintenance as the Italians, looks good, but missing that sex...

Hello and annoying newbie questions :-)

Figure out how much you want to spend, and don't forget to factor in gear if you don't have it already. As already mentioned, look for damage to the bike if it went down, rust, scratches, chain and sprocket condition etc. Personally, I wouldn't ever buy a 250/300, unless you plan to hang onto...
