What was your first street bike?

1970 BSA 500 Royal Star, bought when I was 16. Rode it for a couple years, then put it away in favour of my first car (a 1965 Rambler American with a flat-head six!), because the girlfriend's parents wouldn't let her on the back of the bike. Still have it - 38 years after I bought it - tucked...

Selling a Bike to dealership for Tax free trade in before selling privately

Maybe I'm missing something, but what's stopping the dealership from deciding that the bike is all of a sudden worth $3,000 (pick a number) more than what was talked about during the initial discussion when you show up to buy it from them?

    good easy watch. enjoy

Very nice, inspirational story. But...he has to start race 1 dead last because of having no points. Finishes race 1 second to last, then looks like he starts race 2 very near the front? I really did enjoy the film, but scripted / staged for sure is my guess.

    Ultrasonic cleaning

Or...pick up a couple of 350ml bottles of Motomaster Carburetor & Combustion Chamber Cleaner. It's intended as an additive to your gas, but I use it "straight" in a tupperware bowl to soak/clean carburetors. Used it many, many times, and they come out looking like brand-spankers every time...

    Thoughts on the GSX650F?

Can't comment on the SV650 that people are touting, since I've never ridden one, but I'll echo Kiwi's comments a few posts up. I bought a new 2010 GSX650F in late July 2 years ago, and I've been very happy. More than peppy enough, nice handling, comfortable on all-day jaunts, reasonable on...

Hwy 400 wheelies 3 riders arrested

Well, "Dude"...since proclaiming to Rob that you "clearly own real estate in his head", then following that up with "THE END I'M DONE WITH THIS TOPIC", you have contributed another 14 posts to this thread. Now, I admit I don't work for RE/MAX or Century 21, but it's rather obvious that others...

******* be Crazy...or what happens when you cheat on one

Aside from what kind of bike it was, am I really the first person to call complete, 100% BS on how it happened?

Want to buy a new bike BUT

+1 for the 650GSXF. Bought a new '10 & still having a blast every time I'm on it.

CBR F4i not starting (video & info inside).

Was wondering that myself. Is this a case where Seafoam that so many rant & rave about might have done the trick? Not being a wise-guy - I've never had occasion to try it, but there sure seems to be lots of people who swear by the stuff,

    Upgraded.... Big time. (pic heavy)

Sweet bike, dude!! But I must say I am very confused...how can I be approximately the 15th person to reply, and nobody has yet tried to tear you a new one for going to such a bigger bike so soon...take this-or-that course first...you need more experience...what are you thinking?...etc, etc, etc.

Bikes Being Stolen From Condo Undergrounds.... Stupid! The Solution Is Easy

So I Deviced A Fail-Proof Alarm For My New Bike I was thinking of getting the Xena disc lock but this thing will not wake me up from my sleep even if it goes off, the alarm has to go through a brick wall and 2 doors to reach...

I Almost Killed Myself Today On 11th Highway (Orillia)

Glad the OP came out unscathed. Absolutely thrilled that the paradigm-changing alarm / theft deterrent that was recently 'deviced' can still serve its purpose.

Wow - I'm the first to say that this sounds like self-serving, holier-than-thou, "Hey, look at me" (on the original author's part) drivel?

    Weird air filtration system

As there are no isolation valves to allow individual replacement of the filters on the fly, maybe having 2 is simply to reduce the pressure drop that you'd get across a filter element - even a clean one. Maybe the tool(s) being supplied needed just a bit more pressure than they were getting...

    mom's bike knocked over

I'll bet it was somewhere between 1 & 4 guys, in several vehicles, at least one of which had a flashing green light, who rant all over their co-workers, and just got tuned up by HR, and were out looking to knock some bikes over. Oh, wait...wrong thread...sorry.

victim of Road Rage, hit and run by a coworker, how should I handle this?

As you can tell by my post count, I don't chime in very often, but I do check in daily & poke around. I must say that in my 20 months as a member of this forum, this is all at the same time the best, the worst, the most self-indulgent, the funniest, the most pathetic, the most nonsensical, and...

    Inaccurate Tachometer on Ninja 250

Hook up with a buddy - or someone on this forum - with the same year & model (probably lots around) and compare same gear / same speed tach readings. If it's truly gone out of whack by a factor of 2, should be pretty easy determine?
