    Brampton PowerSports-Service

My experiance with ordering parts at BPS hasn't been great (so far) either. I ordered parts in March was told the wait would be two weeks. Two of the three parts came within ten days (good) The last part I was told would be mid to late April (4-6 weeks) out of the US. I was ok with this. By mid...

    10W40 Oil

I have used Castrol GTX 10w40, (car stuff) works good but I find Castrol brand stuff expensive. Last two years I've been using Lucas mototcycle 10w40 synthetic, (pn# 20710) should be available through most auto parts stores.

the notorious Right Engine Mount Bolt on the 07/08 ZX-6R

One trick I've seen in a machine shop is to hit the bolt with a hammer and punch. I think this is to shock the bolt, breaking free the threads. Also if you are drilling out the broken bit, the punch will dimple the bolt, giviing a spot for the drill bit to start. I've also had some luck with...

    Honda shadow hole saw mod

My buddy did it to his 650 v-star, he liked it. I thought it was kind of tin can sounding. But he made a point to me. He said he wanted a different sound, so if he drilled out the muffler, and didn't like the result, he was going to change the pipes from stock anyway. Didn't seem to have any...

3/4 ton diesel - single rear wheel - daily driver?

Bigger trucks with the diesel power are not great for daily drivers, they are expensive to fix, and unless you need the power to tow or haul lots of stuff all the time, a gas powered truck/suv would be a better choice. You can put a trailer behind just about any vehicle.

ticket for holding a cell phone while driving

My wife was charged with with using a hand held device in Toronto last year. She went to court last week, cop didn't show, it got thrown out. As far as the distracted driving, I don't buy it. I think these people are just poor drivers. I don"t blame the phone.

    2 stroke power loss

I would suspect low compression is the issue. However since you"ve ripped it all apart it's too late to do a compression test, Since it's all apart get the cyl deglazed, and install new rings. You should be fine.

    Replacing vs re-sleeving 750 guides...

I ran an automotive machine shop for 10 years, we resleeved valve guides with bronze liners most of the time. The bronze liner holds up very well. They are cost effective too. Liners are inexpensive when compared to new guides, and less labour to install. As long as the installer knows what he...
